| The Influence of Demons upon the Apostate Church
The Influence of Demons upon the Apostate Church
"God's Spirit clearly says that in the last days many people will turn from their faith. They will be fooled by evil spirits and by teachings that come from DEMONS." (1Timothy 4:1)(CEV)-BibleGateway "This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly (pagan), natural, demonic." (James 3:15)(NASB)-BibleGateway
"The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after DEMONIC illusions put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied so well and for so long that they've lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. (forced celibacy among priests and nuns) They'll tell you not to eat this or that food— (Fish only on Fridays)...." (1Timothy 4:1-4)(MSG)-BibleGateway
"The Holy Spirit clearly says that in the last days some people will leave the faith. They will follow spirits that will fool them. They will believe things that demons will teach them. (1Timothy 4:1)(NIRV)-BibleGateway
2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 (NASB) " 3(A)Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the (C)man of lawlessness is revealed, the (D)son of destruction, 4who opposes and exalts himself above (E)every so-called god or object of worship (pope), so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, (F)displaying himself as being God. 5Do you not remember that (G)while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 6And you know (H)what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7For (I)the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only (J)he who now restrains (the apostles)will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8Then that lawless one (K)will be revealed whom the Lord will slay (L)with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the (M)appearance of His coming; 9that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12in order that they all may be judged who (T)did not believe the truth, but (U)took pleasure in wickedness. " Savage Wolves
"I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them." (Acts 20:29-31) (New International Version) -BibleGateway

 HISTORY OF THE JESUITS "Meanwhile we proceed to describe one of those few Inquisitions that remain to this day in almost the identical state in which they existed when the "Holy Office" was being vigorously worked. This will enable us to realize more vividly the terror of that weapon which Pope Paul III prepared for the hands of the Jesuits," -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "The eight years that elapsed between 1534 and 1542 are notable ones in the annals of Protestant Christianity. That epoch witnessed the birth of three movements, Which were destined to stamp a character upon the future of Europe, and powerfully to modify the conflict then in progress in Christendom. In 1534 the Jesuits recorded their first vow in the Church of Montmartre, in Paris. In 1540 their society was regularly launched by the Papal edict. In 1542, Pope Paul III issued the bull for the re-establishment of the Inquisition; and in 1541 Calvin returned to Geneva, to prepare that spiritual army that was to wage battle with Jesuitism backed by the Inquisition." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "Jesuitism, the consummation of error — the Inquisition, the maximum of force, stand up and array themselves against a now fully developed Protestantism." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"Meanwhile we proceed to describe one of those few Inquisitions that remain to this day in almost the identical state in which they existed when the Holy Office was being vigorously worked. This will enable us to realize more vividly the terror of that weapon which Pope Paul III prepared for the hands of the Jesuits." (repeated for emphasis) -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "The Inquisition of Nuremberg still remains— an anomalous and horrible monument in the midst of a Great city. We shall first describe the Chamber of Torture." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"It derives its name, the Torture-chamber, not only from the fact that the torture was here inflicted, but because into this one chamber has been collected a complete set of the instruments of torture gleaned from the various Inquisitions that formerly existed in Bavaria." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"A glance suffices to show the whole dreadful apparatus by which the adherents of Rome sought to maintain her dogmas...the genius that devised this system of coercion...The persecutor had calculated, doubtless, that the effect produced upon the mind of his victim by these dreaded apparitions...the unfortunate prisoner, on entering such a place...the infernal den... where more dreadful sights meet our gaze. It is hung round and round with instruments of torture, so numerous that it would take a long while even to name them, and so diverse that it would take a much longer time to describe them." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "There were instruments for compressing the fingers till the bones should be squeezed to splinters. There were instruments for probing below the finger-nails till an exquisite pain, like a burning fire, would run along the nerves. There were instruments for tearing out the tongue, for scooping out the eyes, for grubbing-up the ears. There were bunches of iron cords, with a spiked circle at the end of every whip, for tearing the flesh from the back till bone and sinew were laid bare. There were iron cases for the legs, which were tightened upon the limb placed in them by means of a screw, till flesh and bone were reduced to a jelly." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"There were cradles set full of sharp spikes, in which victims were laid and rolled from side to side, the wretched occupant being pierced at each movement of the machine with innumerable sharp points. There were iron ladles with long handles, for holding molten lead or boiling pitch, to be poured down the throat of the victim, and convert his body into a burning cauldron." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "There were frames with holes to admit the hands and feet, so contrived that the person put into them had his body bent into unnatural and painful positions, and the agony grew greater and greater by moments, and yet the man did not die." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"There were chestfuls of small but most ingeniously constructed instruments for pinching, probing, or tearing the more sensitive parts of the body, and continuing the pain up to the very verge where reason or life gives way." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "On the floor and walls of the apartment were other and larger instruments for the same fearful end — lacerating, mangling, and agonizing living men; but these we shall meet in other dungeons we are yet to visit." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "The first impression on entering the chamber was one of bewildering horror; a confused procession of mangled, mutilated, agonising men, speechless in their great woe, the flesh peeled from off their livid sinews, the sockets where eyes had been, hollow and empty, seemed to pass before one." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"The things we have been surveying are not the mere models of the instruments made use of in the Holy Office; but they are the veritable instruments themselves. We see before us the actual implements by which hundreds and thousands of men and women, were torn, and mangled, and slain. These terrible realities the men of the sixteenth century had to face and endure." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "We leave the Torture-chamber to visit the Inquisition proper. We go eastward, about half a mile...till we come to an old tower, The lantern is to show us our way, and the candles are for the purpose of being lighted and stuck up at the turnings in the dark underground passages which we are about to traverse. The cicerone, selecting the largest from the bunch of keys, inserts it in the lock of the massy portal before which we stand, bolt after bolt is turned, and the door, with hoarse heavy groan as it turns on its hinge, opens slowly to us. We begin to descend. We go down one flight of steps; we go down a second flight; we descend yet a third... a gleam thrown forward from the lantern showed us that we were arrived at the entrance of a horizontal, narrow passage...the corridor we were traversing was hewn out of the rock. Every step was carrying us deeper into the heart of the rock, and multiplying the barriers between us and the upper world. We were shut in with the thick darkness and the awful silence. We began to realize what must have been the feelings of some unhappy disciple of the Gospel, surprised by the familiars of the Holy Office...No cry, however piercing, could reach the ear of man through these roofs of rock. He was entirely in the power of those who had brought him thither." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "We found ourselves in a rather roomy chamber, it might be about twelve feet square. This was the Chamber of Question. Along one side of the apartment ran a low platform. There sat of old the inquisitors, three in number.. The only thing that remained of that platform was the crucifix, or image of the cross, which still remained. The six candles that usually burned before the "holy Fathers" were, of course, extinguished, but our lantern supplied their place, and showed us the grim furnishings of the apartment. -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"In the middle was the horizontal rack or bed of torture, on which the victim was stretched till bone separated from bone, and his dislocated frame became the seat of agony, which was suspended only when it had reached a pitch that threatened death." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"Leaning against the wall of the chamber was the upright rack, which is simpler, but as an instrument of torture not less effectual, than the horizontal one. There was the iron chain which wound over a pulley, and hauled up the victim to the vaulted roof; and there were the two great stone weights which, tied to his feet, and the iron cord let go, brought him down with a jerk that dislocated his limbs, while the spiky rollers, which he grazed in his descent, cut into and excoriated his back, leaving his body a bloody, dislocated mass." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"All round, ready to hand, were hung the minor instruments of torture. There were screws and thumbkins for the fingers, spiked collars for the neck, iron boots for the legs, gags for the mouth, cloths to cover the face, and permit the slow percolation of water, drop by drop, down the throat of the person undergoing this form of torture." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"There were rollers set round with spikes, for bruising the arms and back; there were iron scourges, pincers, and tongs for tearing out the tongue, slitting the nose and ears, and otherwise disfiguring and mangling the body till it was horrible and horrifying to look upon it. There were other things of which an expert only could tell the name and the use. Had these instruments a tongue, and could the history of this chamber be written, how awful the tale!" -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION. "What further punishment has the Holy Office in reserve for those from whom its torments have failed to extort a recantation? These dreadful dungeons furnish us with the means of answering this question." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"A few steps are taken downwards...Here there is a vaulted chamber, entirely dug out of the living rock, except the roof, which is formed of hewn stone. It contains an iron image of the Virgin (Mary); and on the opposite wall, suspended by an iron hook, is a lamp, which when lighted shows the goodly proportions of "Our Lady." On the instant of touching a spring the image flings open its arms, which resemble the doors of a cupboard, and which are seen to be stuck full on the inside with poignards (knives), each about a foot in length. Some of these knives are so placed as to enter the eyes of those whom the image enfolded in its embrace, others are set so as to penetrate the ears and brain, others to pierce the breast, and others again to gore the abdomen." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
"The person who had passed through the terrible ordeal of the Question-chamber, but had made no recantation, would be led along the tortuous passage by which we had come, and ushered into this vault, where the first object that would greet his eye, the pale light of the lamp falling on it, would be the iron Virgin. He would be bidden to stand right in front of the image. The spring would be touched by the executioner — and the Virgin would fling open her arms, and the wretched victim would straightway be forced within them. Another spring was then touched — and the Virgin closed upon her victim. At the touching of a third spring, the floor of the image would slide aside, and the body of the victim drop down the mouth of a perpendicular shaft in the rock. We look down this pit, and can see, at a great depth, the shimmer of water. A canal had been made to flow underneath the vault where stood the iron Virgin, and when she had done her work upon those who were delivered over to her tender mercies, she let them fall, with quick descent and sullen plunge, into the canal underneath, where they were floated to the Pegnitz, and from the Pegnitz to the Rhine, and by the Rhine to the ocean, there to sleep beside the dust of Huss and Jerome." -History of the Jesuits by Dr. J. A. Wylie LL.D., Chapter 11 - 1878 THE TORTURES OF THE INQUISITION.
Religious Inquisition tribunals practiced torture mercilessly - on supposed heretics in the name of Christianity .

The Jesuit Oath - Against Heresy (The Society of Jesus)
The following is the text of the Jesuit Extreme Oath of Induction as recorded in the Journals of the 62nd Congress, 3rd Session, of the United States Congressional Record (House Calendar No. 397, Report No. 1523, 15 February, 1913, pp. 3215-3216), from which it was subsequently torn out. The Oath is also quoted by Charles Didier in his book Subterranean Rome (New York, 1843) Dr. Alberto Rivera, who escaped from the Jesuit Order in 1967, confirms that the induction ceremony and the text of the Jesuit Oath which he took were identical to what we have cited below.

The Jesuit Oath
“I now, in the presence of the Almighty God, the blessed virgin Mary, the blessed Michael the Archangel, the blessed St John the Baptist...and my ghostly father, the superior general of the Society of Jesus, founded by St Ignatius Loyola, do, by the womb of the Virgin... swear that His Holiness the Pope is Christ’s vice-regent, and is the true and only Head of the Catholic or Universal Church... I do now renounce and dis-own any allegiance is due to any heretical King, Prince, or State, named Protestant or Liberal, or obedience to any of their laws or magistrates, or officers."(2) "I do further declare the doctrine of the Church of England, and Scotland, and of Calvinists, Huguenots, and others of the name of Protestant or Liberal, to be damnable, and themselves to be damned, who will not forsake the same. I do further promise and declare that, notwithstanding I am dispensed with, to assume my religion heretical for the propagation of Mother Church’s interest, to keep secret and private all her agents, counsels, from time to time, as they interest me, and not divulge directly or indirectly, by word, writing, or circumstances whatever."(2) "I do furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity presents, make and wage relentless war secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants... as I am directed to; extirpate them from the face of the earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex, or condition, and that I will Hang, Burn, waste, boil, flay, Strangle and Bury Alive those infamous heretics; Rip up the stomachs and wombs of the women, and crush their infant’s heads against the wall in order to annihilate their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poison cup, the strangulating cords, the steels of the poinard, or the leaden bullets, regardless of the honour, rank, dignity, or authority of the persons, whatever may be their condition in life, either public or private, as I at any time may be directed to, by any agent of the Pope, or the superior of the Holy Father of the Society of Jesus."(2) "In confirmation of which I hereby dedicate my life, my soul, and my corporeal powers; and with this dagger, which I now receive, I will subscribe my name written in blood in testimony thereof; and should I prove false, or weaken in my determination, may my brethren and fellow-soldiers of the militia of the Pope, cut off my hands and my feet, and my throat from ear to ear, rip my belly open, and sulphur burn therein, and all the punishments that can be inflicted on me on earth, and my soul be tortured by demons in an eternal hell for ever."(2) "In testimony thereof I take this most holy and blessed sacrament of the Eucharist, and witness the same further with my name written with the point of this dagger, dipped in my own blood, and sealed in the face of the holy covenant.”(2) -- (2) Source : (Source: ‘Divine Calendar’, Vol. 2, edited by Augusta Cook; Published by Dank and sons, 1916)
 Jesuits and Nazi Germany
"To what extent the Catholics were masters of Nazi Germany soon became apparent as also did the severity with which some of the "Papacy's high principles" were applied. The liberals and Jews had plenty of spare time to find out that these principles were far from out-dated, as the most orthodox voices confirmed it. The right the Church arrogates herself to exterminate slowly or speedily those who are in the way was "put into practice" at Auschwitz, Dachau, Belsen, Buchenwald and other death camps..." --The Secret History of the Jesuits;
by Edmond Paris Chino, California, U.S.A., 1975 Hitler and The Popes
Hitler and The Popes
"as Secretary of State, Pope, Pius XII (Eugenio Pacelli) greeted Hitler as the Savior of Germany and the White Hope of the Church." -How The Pope of Peace Traded in Blood; The Red Record of the Holy Fathers; by Joseph McCabe Haldeman-Julius; 1941 "The second world war was a modern day Roman crusade. Hitler was only a pawn raised up by the Vatican to serve her purpose, as was Mussolini." -The Counterfeit Kingdom S. H. Venour; 1996 "The Third Reich is the first world power which not only acknowledges but also puts into practice the high principles of the papacy." --The Pope's Secret Chamberlain Franz Von Papen's Statement During World War II "Under its care the papal organisation and the swastika launched a deadly attack on the hated liberalism and tried to bring about the "new Middle-Ages" that Hitler had promised to Europe." --The Secret History of the Jesuits; by Edmond Paris Chino, California, U.S.A., 1975 "If Hitler had won the war, Rome would have had control of the world immediately, and we would have been back in the Middle Ages there and then." -The Counterfeit Kingdom S. H. Venour; 1996 "If Rome gains complete control no person will be allowed to live unless they either are or become Roman Catholic. The murderous inquisitions of the Middle Ages will be upon us again." -The Counterfeit Kingdom S. H. Venour; 1996 Cruelty and Opression Under the Papacy "Heretics may not only be excommunicated, but also justly put to death." (Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. XIV, p. 768) "We declare, say, define, and pronounce that every being should be subject to the Roman Pontiff." -(Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. XV, p. 126) "The pope issued orders that the Protestants should be forced to recant or be killed. This led to terrible persecutions which killed millions of people throughout Europe, and which wiped out the Reformation on the Continent, which is why two thirds of mainland Europe is Roman Catholic today." -The Counterfeit Kingdom S. H. Venour; 1996 The Papal Legacy
THE PAPACY "Most Catholics go through their entire lives without hearing a single condemnatory word against the papacy. Many today still profess great love for the pontiff. These true believers would be astonished to learn that historically, most of the popes have not been loved, but instead hated and feared, and deservedly so, for the Vatican has been the home base for some of the most thoroughly evil and corrupt men in human history, all hiding behind the cloak of righteous respectability and today supported by unquestioning political and media elites." -The Popes: Saints or Madmen? by Jon Nelson "The use of torture was authorized in 1252 by Pope Innocent IV. In Spain, it is estimated that torture was used in about 1/3 of all cases. (Hroch, p. 146) The purpose of torture was to exact confessions. Since some people questioned whether confessions received under torture were valid, the accused would be asked to verify what they had admitted under torture several hours later. If they refused to validate their confession, then they would be subject to more torture!" --A Brief History of the Inquisition by Robert C. Jones President of the Kennesaw Historical Society
"The chronicles of the popes makes for unbelievable reading. Nearly every conceivable human atrocity was encouraged by these men. Many practiced equally unbelievable vices." -The Popes: Saints or Madmen? by Jon Nelson
"The clergy owned brothels. The Papal authorities at Rome taxed the earnings of prostitutes. -A History of the Popes (1939) Joseph Mccabe Watts & Co. London.
"Pope Marcellinus (296-304?)... offered sacrifices to the pagan gods." -Saints and Sinners: A History of the Popes (New Haven and London: Yale University Press, 1997) "the papacy became the possession of the great Roman families, a ticket to local dominance for which men were prepared to rape, murder and steal. Most of these men were manoeuvred into power by a succession of powerful families." -Saints and Sinners: A History of the Popes (New Haven and London: Yale University Press, 1997) "The popes themselves were deeply embroiled in the internecine dynastic warfare of the Roman nobility, and election to the chair of Peter, as we have seen, was frequently a commodity for sale or barter." -Saints and Sinners: A History of the Popes (New Haven and London: Yale University Press, 1997) "the mounting cost of papal wars, and the lavish building programmes of successive popes, made the search for new sources of revenue unending. The most notorious of these was the sale of indulgences, especially the indulgence for the rebuilding of St Peter's. More significant still, however, was the growing dependence of the popes on the sale of office." -Saints and Sinners: A History of the Popes (New Haven and London: Yale University Press, 1997) "Increasingly the life of the church was corrupted by money. No one believed in bribery; but everyone knew that many high churchmen could be bribed." - A History of the Modern World, by R. R. Palmer and Joel Colton
"And of all plagues with which mankind are curst, ecclesiastic tyranny's the worst." - Daniel Defoe The True-Born Englishman
"The writers of the middle ages are full of accounts of nunneries that were like brothels, of the vast multitude of infanticides within their walls, and of that inveterate prevalence of incest among the clergy, which rendered it necessary again and again to issue the most stringent enactments that priests should not be permitted to live with their mothers or sisters" -(History of European Morals, Vol. II, p. 331).
"Once he became Pope Alexander VI, Vatican parties, already wild, grew wilder. They were costly, but he could afford the lifestyle of a Renaissance prince; as vice chancellor of the Roman Church, he had amassed enormous wealth. As guests approached the papal palace, they were excited by the spectacle of living statues: naked, gilded young men and women in erotic poses. Flags bore the Borgia arms, which, appropriately, portrayed a red bull rampant on a field of gold. Every fete had a theme. One, known to Romans as the Ballet of the Chestnuts, was held on October 30, 1501. The indefatigable Burchard describes it in his Diarium. After the banquet dishes had been cleared away, the city's fifty most beautiful whores danced with the guests, "first clothed, then naked. The dancing over, the "ballet" began, with the Pope and two of his children in the best seats. - A World Lit Only by Fire- The Medieval Mind and The Renaissance William Manchester Little, Brown & Company, 1992
Pope Alexander VI (The Party Continues) "Candelabras were set up on the floor, scattered among them were chestnuts, "which", Burchard writes, "the courtesans had to pick up, crawling between the candles." Then the serious sex started. Guests stripped and ran out onto the floor, where they mounted, or were mounted by, the prostitutes. "The coupling took place," according to Burchard, "in front of everyone present." Servants kept score of each man's orgasms, for the Pope greatly admired virility, and measured a man's machismo by his ejaculative capacity. After eveyone was exhausted, His Holiness distributed prizes- cloaks, boots, caps, and fine silken tunics. "The winners", the diarist wrote, "were those who made love with the courtesans the greatest number of times." - A World Lit Only by Fire- The Medieval Mind and The Renaissance William Manchester Little, Brown & Company, 1992
"The vendettas, bribery, ecclesiastical feuds, political intrigue and bloodshed that are part of the story of how popes have been chosen down through the centuries, make for a colourful and highly entertaining account of the Conclave, the gathering of cardinals that follows the death of a pope to elect his successor." -The Conclave; by Michael Walsh Canterbury Press; ISBN:1853114979 "...for eight centuries the power of the Popes was based upon violence and bloodshed. A distinguished German historian has estimated that their victims numbered more than 10 million in just 500 years." -How The Pope of Peace Traded in Blood; The Red Record of the Holy Fathers; by Joseph McCabe Haldeman-Julius; 1941 "these (Catholic) Holy Fathers shed more blood in defense of their wealth and power than all the other historic religions put together... the record of their vices is the worst in the whole history of religion." -How The Pope of Peace Traded in Blood; The Red Record of the Holy Fathers; by Joseph McCabe Haldeman-Julius; 1941 "even the best Popes were terrible shedders of blood. The holiest of them all, Innocent III, was responsible for about 500,000 victims in 18 years (1198-1216)." -How The Pope of Peace Traded in Blood; The Red Record of the Holy Fathers; by Joseph McCabe Haldeman-Julius; 1941 "Catholic Rome was described by a devout French priest as “the most hideous sewer that was ever opened up to the eye of man” and this is approvingly quoted by a Catholic historian in the Cambridge Modern History (X, 164) in which all this is admitted." -How The Pope of Peace Traded in Blood; The Red Record of the Holy Fathers; by Joseph McCabe Haldeman-Julius; 1941 "The horrors of the dead Papal Kingdom were told by hundreds of writers and orators in Europe and America." -How The Pope of Peace Traded in Blood; The Red Record of the Holy Fathers; by Joseph McCabe Haldeman-Julius; 1941 The Dominicans "The Dominican friars would do well, in modern times, to change their name. The fanaticism of their founder was more dangerous to others than to himself. He specialized on hatred of heretics, and his white-robed sons grimly stoked the fires of the Inquisition...many millions were punished with horrible death or torture." - A History of the Popes (1939) Joseph Mccabe Watts & Co. London.
"In 1233, the Dominicans were given the task of running the courts of the Inquisition, a task which they took to with great ferocity and effectiveness for the next several hundred years." --A Brief History of the Inquisition by Robert C. Jones President of the Kennesaw Historical Society
Dominicans Became Dreaded Inquisitors
"It was Gregory IX who instituted the machinery of The Inquisition in 1227. Torture would be allowed, as it had been under Roman law. On April 20, 1233, by papal bull, Pope Gregory placed the operation of the Inquisition into the hands of the Dominicans. The methods employed by his order included torture and execution, usually by burning. The good name of the Dominicans was forever stained by their participation in this cruel activity. Before long the order became popularly known as Domini canes, Latin for "God's dogs." -- Christian History Institute Glimpses of Christian History "Dominicans Became Dreded Inquisitors"
```````````````````` The Inquisitions
The Inquisition - Trials and Tortures of Victims of the Church
"The accused had almost no rights – no right to a lawyer, no right to know who their accusers were, and no right to know the nature of the charges leveled against them. Torture was used in many cases to extract confessions. The families of heretics that were burned typically had their property confiscated. The methodologies and the ferocity of the Inquisition stood as unique in the history of Western civilization until the Nazis and Communists of the 20th century." --A Brief History of the Inquisition by Robert C. Jones President of the Kennesaw Historical Society
"Catholic writers pretend that the Roman Inquisition at least did little of this slaughter. They know well that the figures have never been published. Until the time of Leo XIII a large proportion of the documents treasured at the Vatican were kept in the "Secret Archives." -A History of the Popes (1939)
Joseph Mccabe Watts & Co. London. The Inquisition "(n´´kwzsh´n) (KEY) , tribunal of the Roman Catholic Church established for the investigation of heresy." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition"
The Medieval Inquisition
"In the early Middle Ages investigation of heresy was a duty of the bishops. The popes issued increasingly stringent instructions as to the methods for dealing with heretics. Finally, in 1233, Pope Gregory IX established the papal Inquisition, dispatching Dominican friars to S France to conduct inquests." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition" "After 1254 the accused had no right to counsel...The trials were conducted secretly....Torture of the accused and his witnesses soon became customary and notorious. Pope Innocent IV ultimately permitted torture in cases of heresy." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition"
"Most trials resulted in a guilty verdict. Burning at the stake was thought to be the fitting punishment for heresy. A verdict of guilty also meant the confiscation of property by the civil ruler, who might turn over part of it to the church. This practice led to graft, blackmail, and simony and also created suspicion of some of the inquests." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition"
"Generally the inquisitors were eager to receive abjurations of heresy and to avoid trials. Secular rulers came to use the persecution of heresy as a weapon of state, as in the case of the suppression of the Knights Templars." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition"
"The Inquisition was employed mainly in S France, N Italy, and Germany. In 1542, Pope Paul III assigned the medieval Inquisition to the Congregation of the Inquisition, or Holy Office. This institution, which became known as the Roman Inquisition, was intended to combat Protestantism, but it is perhaps best known historically for its condemnation of Galileo. After the Second Vatican Conference, it was replaced (1965) by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which governs vigilance in matters of faith." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition"
"The Spanish Inquisition was much harsher, more highly organized, and far freer with the death penalty than the medieval Inquisition. The Spanish Inquisition was finally abolished in 1834." -The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001. Under Topic - "Inquisition" "We must rank the Inquisition....as among the darkest blots on the record of mankind, revealing a ferocity unknown in any beast." -The book- The Age of Faith; by Will Durant
"In Rome, in 1849, I myself visited every convent. I was present at all the investigations. Without a single exception we found instruments of torture, and a cellar with the bodies of infant children." -- The Italian patriot, Giuseppe Garibald (1807-1882)
"There has been no more organized effort by a religion to control people and contain their spirituality than the Christian Inquisition. Developed within the Church's own legal framework, the Inquisition attempted to terrify people into obedience. Pope Innocent III declared "that anyone who attempted to construe a personal view of God which conflicted with Church dogma must be burned without pity." -- Controlling the Human Spirit The Inquisition and Slavery 1250-1800 by Helen Ellerbe from The Dark Side of Christian History
"Thus, with license granted by the Pope himself, inquisitors were free to explore the depths of horror and cruelty. Dressed as black-robed fiends with black cowls over their heads, inquisitors could extract confessions from nearly anyone." -- Controlling the Human Spirit The Inquisition and Slavery 1250-1800 by Helen Ellerbe from The Dark Side of Christian History
"The Inquisition invented every conceivable devise to inflict pain by slowly dismembering and dislocating the body. Many of the devices were inscribed with the motto "Glory be only to God." The rack, the hoist, and the water tortures were the most common. Victims were rubbed with lard or grease and slowly roasted alive. Ovens built to kill people, made infamous in twentieth century Nazi Germany, were first used by the Christian Inquisition in Eastern Europe. Victims were thrown into a pit full of snakes and burned alive." -- Controlling the Human Spirit The Inquisition and Slavery 1250-1800 by Helen Ellerbe from The Dark Side of Christian History
"Historians have often tried to diminished Christian responsibility for the Inquisition by dividing the Inquisition into three separate phases: the medieval, the Spanish, and the Roman. Yet, the Spanish Inquisition's most influential leader, the Dominican Tomás de Torquemada, was appointed Inquisitor General by Pope Sixtus IV." -- Controlling the Human Spirit The Inquisition and Slavery 1250-1800 by Helen Ellerbe from The Dark Side of Christian History
| God Has A Name
God Has A Name
"The Maker should have honour from his works, they should tell forth his praise: and thus they should praise his name— by which his character is intended. The name of JEHOVAH is written legibly upon his works, so that his power, wisdom, goodness, and other attributes are therein made manifest to thoughtful men, and thus his name is praised. We can never extol him better than by repeating his name. -- Source -- The Treasury of David; Psalm 148 by Charles H. Spurgeon (1834-92)
A Shocking Truth - "Lord" - is NOT His Name
To some, the name, "Jehovah" - is a household word. To others it is a shock to learn that God has a name. Many thought that the title "LORD" was His Name. But Lord was only used as a substitute for His Name.
"The Hebrew name "Jehovah" is generally translated in the Authorized Version and the Revised Version of The Bible - by the word "LORD" - printed in small capitals, to show that an omission has taken place." -Bible Encyclopedia Author - Matthew G. Easton "the writers of the sixteenth century, both Catholic and Protestant - were perfectly familiar with the word - Jehovah." --The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume VIII. 1910. New York: Robert Appleton Company. Nihil Obstat, October 1, 1910. Remy Lafort, S.T.D., Censor. Imprimatur. +John Cardinal Farley, Archbishop of New York
God Wants us to Use His Name
God wants us to know and use His Name - He says so.
"Oh give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; Make known among the peoples his doings." (Psalm 105:1)(ASV)-BibleGateway "Give ye thanks to Jehovah, call upon his name, declare his deeds among the peoples, make mention that his name is exalted." (Isaiah 12:4)(Darby)-BibleGateway "Ascribe to Jehovah the honour of His Name..." (1Chronicles 16:29)(YLT)-BibleGateway "Oh magnify Jehovah with me, And let us exalt his name together." (Psalm 34:3)(ASV)-BibleGateway "Sing unto God, sing praises to his name...." (Psalm 64:8)(ASV)-BibleGateway
"Praise ye Jah! for Jehovah is good, Sing praise to His name, for it is pleasant." (Psalm 135:3)(YLT)-BibleGateway
"My mouth shall speak the praise of Jehovah; And let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever." (Psalm 145:21)(ASV)-BibleGateway
"Let them praise the name of Jehovah: for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above the earth and the heavens." (Psalm 148:13)(Darby)-BibleGateway
Those Who Avoid Jehovah's Name
"they who opposes the God of the Bible, are characterized by avoiding using his name. We clearly see the contrast in Jesus' conversation with Satan, as it is described in Matthew 4:1-11. Satan consistently used the title "God", and quoted a scripture that didn't have the name of God. Jesus answered every time by citing scriptures that had the name of God. That's the way it is - we like to use the name of a person who really means a lot to us." -The Divine Name; Pronunciation The Divine Name in Norway
"The Bible shows us that Satan presumably has a plan of getting people to forget the name of God, by getting people to worship other gods. He wanted this to happen with the Israelites, a situation Jeremiah 23:27 describes: "that think to cause my people to forget my name.... as their fathers forgat my name for Baal." -The Divine Name; Pronunciation The Divine Name in Norway
Charles H. Spurgeon (a famous preacher) Declared Jehovah's Name "Praise ye the LORD. Hallelujah! The exhortation is to all things in earth or in heaven. Should they not all declare the glory of him for whose glory they are, and were created? JEHOVAH, the one God, should be the one object of adoration, Hallelujah!" -The Treasury of David; Psalm 150 by Charles H. Spurgeon Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-92) "Abraham says nothing about himself at all, but the praise is unto God, who sees and is seen; the record is, "Jehovah will provide." -sermon by C. H. Spurgeon delivered on October 12th, 1884, The Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Vol. XXX, pg. 541 (Sermon No. 1803). "Jehovah God in the center of His people in all the majesty of His power! This presence alone suffices to inspire us with peace and hope. Treasures of boundless might are stored in our Jehovah." -Charles Haddon Spurgeon "His Love; His Gift; His Son" C. H. Spurgeon A Voice from the Philadelphian Church Age
"The century grows old, but the glory of Jehovah is ever new." -C.H. Spurgeon, 1888 Sword and Trowel Preface WHETHER we smite with the Sword, or build with the Trowel, LET THE LORD'S NAME BE MAGNIFIED.
"The unseen but omnipotent Jehovah is to be worshipped in spirit and in truth." -C.H. Spurgeon; sermon #627 "Justification and Glory" Published in MTP Vol 11, Year 1865, pg. 249
Jesus Taught Us To Use - God's Name
"Jesus taught his disciples to use God's name, as John 17:6 shows us: "I have revealed your name to the men you gave me out of the world..... Because of this, several Bible translators have chosen to re-insert the Divine Name in the New Testament, in places where it most likely were written in the original text." -The Divine Name; Pronunciation The Divine Name in Norway "The conclusion must be that is is not wrongful to use God's name - it is actually a demand for they who claim to worship the God of the Bible. The Bible says that using his name is necessary to get approved by God: "And everyone who calls on the name of "Jehovah" will be saved" (Joel 2:32, ASV)" -The Divine Name; Pronunciation The Divine Name in Norway
"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered..." (Joel 2:32)(ASV)-BibleGateway "...this is what was said through the prophet Joel, ‘“And in the last days,” God says... everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”’" (Acts 2:16,17,21)(NWT) "For the Scripture says... 'everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.'" (Romans 10:11,13)(NWT) ```````
| Get Out of Her - My People !
GET OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE !!! WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN ? WHO IS SHE ? ".......Babylon The Great....... 'Come away from her, my people. Do not take part in her sins, or you will be punished with her. For her sins are piled as high as heaven, and God is ready to judge her for her evil deeds.' " (Revelation 18:1,4)(NASB)- BibleGateway
COME AWAY FROM HER. WHO IS SHE ? WHO IS THIS "BABYLON THE GREAT"?
The highly symbolic book of Revelation, like so many other prophesies in the Bible, is filled with many puzzles pieces.
By taking each piece of the puzzle and placing them together, we get an entire picture; that will be easy to recognize. Are you ready to build the puzzle?
Who is the Female Prostitute ? Who is the female prostitute that we are told to run away from - to flee from - to get out of ?
IS SHE THE ACTUAL CITY OF BABYLON? NO - FOR THAT CITY DID NOT EXIST AT THE TIME WHEN JOHN WROTE THE BOOK OF REVELATION.
Literal Babylon was no longer a great city when Revelation was written at the end of the first centry C.E. .  Ancient Babylon
"The city (of Babylon) was taken by the Persians under Cyrus the Great in 539 B.C. . Later Alexander the Great planned to make Babylon the capital of his eastern empire, but after his death Babylon gradually lost importance." --The Encyclopedia Americana (New York; 1956), Vol III, p.7 "Although the Persian Kings made Babylon their residence, nothing was done for the restoration of the city; and Alexander the Great, who, on his entrance, in 331 B.C., had promised the inhabitants to rebuild the ruined temple, was unable even to clear away the rubbish, although he employed 10,000 workmen for two months. After his death Babylon went rapidly to decay." -- The New Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia (New York; 1950), Vol. 3, pg. 872) So who is - "Babylon The Great" ?
Could she be the world's people?
No, because the nations were said to be made drunk with the wine of her fornication. ". |
