I looked at the calendar and realized that if I’m going to keep up my semi-annual blog rate, I’d better get busy and get it done.  It is Sunday morning and I am sitting at work trying to figure out how to reduce overhead costs.  This blog is a tell-tale sign of the progress that I am making.

It is a grey autumn morning.  The trees in our area are beautiful this weekend.  My mind keeps drifting back to yesterday, which was one of those perfect autumn days that we get to enjoy from time to time.  I saw this excerpt in one of LMF’s recent blogs and it really struck home:

-O world, I cannot hold thee close enough!-  E. St. Vincent Millay

Late in the afternoon, my wife and I drove to a nearby town to pick up a piece of furniture that we had bought.  I told her that I really hated to see this day come to a close because it was such a perfect, rare autumn day.  I felt like I couldn’t breath in enough of the sweet, sharp air and that I was compelled to look at every tree.  I suppose that if days like these were more common, we might appreciate them less, but as it is, I will wait impatiently for this time next year.

LOL at your progress report.

I love a wonderful fall day.

And it's nice to see that you are sticking to your strict semi-annual schedule of blogging ...

Days as the one you described, have the potential to be appreciated no matter the number.  It's all up to us.  I'm glad to read you again.  Perhaps more frequent blogging will help to eradicate the cobwebs and make the ideas flow better! Blessings abound

When I was young and naive and Spring was my favorite time of year, I once visited California and decided I could never live there precisely because it was completely and absolutely perfect, all the time. Now that I'm old and wrinkling and love the tangy bitter-sweetness of autumn best, I'm definitely of the mind that the rarity of a perfect day renders it all the more wonderous. But I'm so glad we had more than one of them this season!

P.S. And the rarity of your inciteful blogs is, of course, all the more enticing. So blog on!

We're blessed, here in Vero Beach, FL, with beautiful weather six months of the year, and the great weather days come with such regularity and monotony that the standard greeting, as we encounter folks enjoying a walk, is "Good morning, another day in paradise."

And we never lose our appreciation.

Up where you live, you have the beautiful fall colors, which we miss, unless we travel.

I'm pleased you keep blogging, even if only twice a year.  Season's Greetings, to you and yours.
