| Okay, way wow...Yeah, amazing - I'M UPDATING! Haha...okay, so since I wrote last, I've acquired a car, my best friend moved to Balitmore, I've been down there twice to see her in 3 weeks, and I got a parking ticket for $42.00 since apparently, in Baltimore, they LOVE to put the 2hr parking signs IN THE TREE CANOPY. Now I ask you, if you have a car that's so tiny (i.e. 98 Ford Escort ZX2) and the sign is in the canopy of the tree, can you see it? NO! Anyway, I've moved beyond that - just my question of the year...Baltimore hates those that do not live there - and yet, they want some kind of a tourism business...you barely have time to get from one spot to the other before you end up having to go BACK to your car to move it - OR, they charge you an arm, leg, and first born to park in one of their "many" (and by many I mean maybe 3) parking garages. Haha! Let's see, what else? There's drama going on, but that's nothing new...um...I'm losing my amazing job at the Morning Call at the end of the year due to a fun little *insert word* called outsourcing...yeah, our entire department (TRIBUNE wide) is going to the Phillipines - we, as employees, are not going, but the people of the Philipines are going to be paid to take phone calls from Allentown, Baltimore, St. Louis, Chicago, Denver, Colorado Springs, Los Angeles, you name it! If you have a problem with a Tribune Paper ANYWHERE in the US, you can guarantee you will get someone who knows just enough English to tell you you cannot get a ppr. Haha! The subscription cancellations have already started in protest. Apparently, Tribune gives nothing about their customers, which is ironic considering one of our mission statements (which I should know, but have little incentive to remember it, so I don't). They obviously don't care too much about their workers, either...so yeah, America is going to the Third World countries to try to boost their economy while ours is going straight down the tubes - wow, am I glad I wrote that paper for that one class. Um, let's see - I got a new Bible, which for me, is fun! It's called the "So That's Why" Bible (NKJV-New King James Version), and so I'm going to have a fun time reading that - with all the extra additives. Woot! I also have a lot of other fun Christian Fiction to read, so I'm looking forward to that, as well. So anyway... For the most part, life is good. I'm working mad hours at MCall, and Toys is just Sat/Sun - which, I can almost guarantee they're not happy about. We have this new manager - Bill - who happens to think he's God's gift to Toys R Us, which, he's really not. Haha, more on that later - I have some stuff to do now...ttfn! **One hour later** Yeah, so that lasted long...grr...Anyway, I'm in the mood to write, but I don't know if I want to deal with the computer to plug my flash drive into the back of the thing. OH! There's something else! My computer broke - again. Same deal as before...the power source broke off - so that's another $125 that I get to spend! So, your honest opinion - do I fix it, or do I just keep saving to get a new one? I mean, seriously...I'm getting tired of fixing it, and having it not stay fixed, and my DSL isn't happening either, but I don't have the money to cancel it - so I get to keep paying for it until my mom gets the whole cable/phone/internet thing going...That's when I get to get the network thing going (which I think I'm gonna ask my good friend Paula to set that up in our house instead of doing the whole wireless thing - I don't know yet...) but anyway, yeah...that's that. What was I saying before? Oh, yes...Bill - Thankfully, I don't have to work with him much (*thank you, God!*), but one of my friends, Tara, does. She's been lugging freight around for years - since we both started there, and now all of a sudden, she's getting comments from this jack @$$ saying, "It's okay, there's a MAN here to do it now," and the like. I about flipped when she told me that. So at one point, I told her, "Fine, then let the 'man' do it, then. You don't touch a thing, and you let him do all the resets, since technically, that's his job now." But we all know how long that'll go. Apparently, he was a manager of Giant Food Stores a while back, and left there to come to TRU. Why anyone would do that is beyond me, but he did - maybe he's hoping for a decent Christmas discount. Well, he's not getting any more than we do - 10%. He's just plain nuts, and really, I'm not a huge fan of him. He reminds me too much of Tony (which I don't think I ever went into that manager from last year - basically, he liked to sexually harrass women who worked under him). I found out that comments such as "Here, let a MAN do it," is sexual harrassment - so that just makes it better ammo for Tara should she ever say anything to Lisa about it (Lisa being our HR director at our store). Seriously, he's making more enemies (just by following Pam around like a sick puppy) than friends, and the last time I checked, NONE of the managers were comfortable with him...it's gonna be interesting to see if he lasts through Christmas...haha! |
