Hey Everyone,

I just got back from a birthday party which was a lot of fun....I must say it's one of the funniest and most fun things to see a bunch of homeschool moms joining in the "chicken dance"...I love being weird like that :)

I saw this quote in the Summit Journal and thought I"d post it for y'all:

It is painful, being a man, to have to assert the privilege, or the burden, which Christianity lays upon my own sex. I am crushingly aware how inadequate most of us are, in our actual and historical individualities, to fill the place prepared for us. But it is an old saying in the Army that you salute the uniform and not the wearer. Only one wearing the masculine uniform can (provisionally, and till the Parousia) represent the Lord of the Church; for we are all, corporately and individually, feminine to Him. We men may often make very bad priests. That is because we rare insufficiently masculine. It is no cure to call in those who are not masculine at all. A given man may make a very bad husband; you cannot end matters by trying to reverse the roles. He may make a bad male partner in a dance. The cure for that is that men should more diligently attend dancing classes; not that the ballroom should henceforward ignore distinctions of sex and treat all dancers as neuter. That would, of course, be eminently sensible, civilized, and enlightened, but, once more, 'not near so much like a Ball.'

                                                                                                       - C.S. Lewis

I'll try to post again sometime soon.

P.S. we have our Christmas tree and decorations up now....we put them up on halloween :)

God Bless and I love you all,
                                                                                                           Amy

hey Everyone :)

How's it been going? I know I haven't been on here in ages, and chances are that I won't be again for awhile - sadly this is just how life seems to be going ( sad in respect to xangaing....cause of course life is not sad, it's just where God has me right now) for awhile lol.

Life is just whizzing (sp) by so fast..wow. A friend at church who is part of the yearbook committee for our homeschool group asked me last week about Sr. pictures and I was like.....huh? Ohhhh that's right. I'm graduating this year - very odd thing to think about.

Recently - I've been fascinated with the concept of Justification :) and love hearing songs that talk about our sins being covered and God being satisfied because of Jesus' work on the cross...love it love it! - It also prolly has something to do with reading a commentary on Galatians by Martin Luther

- I had my 1st debate round of the year...it was pretty funny considering I wasn't supposed to be debating in the first place, but the guy who was supposed to debate was sick. I went neg...neither of us really had evidence, but we had fun debating the ideas and trying to support examples - which is hard when you're dealing with the facts of foreign policy.

I've gotten to swing dance a little lately and have been obsessed with looking at the stars from our barn roof and going to bed early ( yeah I know, how weird is that?)....Jenna and I went to visit Hayley up at Southeastern this past week-end and had a blast.

So there is a little update if anyone was interested. I love you all, even though I might not get back to commenting on your site. God Bless - Love in Christ, Amy

Before The Throne of God Above

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!

man knows not his time...

Steve Irwin
"The Crocodile Hunter"
1962 - 2006

CAIRNS, Australia - Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.

Yep, so this is the first thing that Luke came in and told me this morning....he has a habit of making sure I am aware of cheery things like that so I don't begin my day ignorant of what's going on in the world.  It's just as Robin and I keep saying "really sad" and not something that you would have expected to happen partly because of his age, partly because of what he does and also because of the way he died...it almost sounds like something from a movie - he was pierced in the heart by a stingray barb.....which is just very uncommon.

But what is even more sad to think about is where he is now.  I don't suppose any of us can really know... he was an evolutionist, but beyond that I really don't know. It's just a very real reminder that not only the people we see on the street every day, but worldwide personalities as  well.

The first time our family watched The Crocodile Hunter was when we were on vacation in the keys and Mom kept getting on our case to turn off the TV, but Dad and the rest of us just kept watching that "crazy" Austrailian guy.

So other than being depressed about that, I'm working on cutting interps, but I'm still really sad.

Hey everyone!

No, I'm not dead, I haven't been kidnapped by aliens and sadly *sigh* I haven't wandered into Narnia.

I've pretty much decided that I don't have much time this year - this I'm sure isn't new to most of you in your own lives - so I'm pretty much doing speech and debate along with school.

I've also really been trying to manage my time more wisely - which is probably a lot of the reason that I haven't been on here a whole lot lately. And it's been really good. I'll try to get on here again sometime this week and make a longer post. I've really liked this song lately...on several levels. It just reminds you - especially in relationships that you can only do as much as you can do, then you have to leave it up to God, because He ultimately is the only one who can save.

How To Save a Life - The Fray

Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best
Cause after all you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life
How to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

                                 God Bless - Amy
