*sigh* ... i'm in Africa. I absolutely love it here. I'd write more; but the keyboards here qre different, so it takes too long to type: I'm going to wait until i'm in Kamsar, with wireless internet, to pre-type my emails before going online.

i love you all. keep me in your prayers. some interesting events have been happening, including multiple attempts to convert me to islam. haha

  • ... i just bought a one-way plane ticket to Africa...

     toronto > JFK > Casablanca > Conakry

I get a 12 hr layover [all day] in Casablanca, Morocco, and so I'm going to go out exploring the city.
So far, I plan on visiting the Hussan II mosque [the biggest mosque outside Saudia Arabia], maybe going to a traditional hammam [bath house], and then getting some good Moroccan food [hopefully a yummy mqualli tajine].

i still have a WHOLE lot to do, but i have my plane ticket, my entry visa, all my vaccinations, and my international drivers permit... so I guess I have the most important stuff done. er... well, I still haven't unpacked from Texas. lol

lots of love to all who have subscribed so far. If you haven't, and you're reading this, get on it!

[ps. If you want to see pictures of the hotel they're placing me in for the first 4 months, take a look at my picture album....]

I signed my contract today :) My heart is happy, and yet scared to death...
I move out of Texas in 5 days.... finally, after 4 years of being here, I'm leaving.
I'll only be home for like 2 weeks before I fly to Guinea, and there's so much to do!

Man. If only I could sleep at night. That might help.

  • My First Post

This xanga is going to be specifically for my time in Guinea, West Africa.
My other xanga will be on hiatus for the time being, [you can check there if you want to know why] so if you want to know about what is going on in my life, then check back here often!

Until my departure date [tentitivly August 29th] I will be just talking about how my planning and stuff is going.
Feel free to leave me some encouragement, and I'm very excited, but really nervous, as well!!
