I'm here. No really. I'm still alive!!!

Last semester just got out of control and I was wicked busy, but I learned my lesson and this semester is more under control.

I had a snow day at college! It was the a-mazing.

Classes are going well. Even better is that God is stretching me and growing me in ways I never knew possible. PLUS... *drum roll please* I'm going to MOZAMBIQUE!!!!!! das right :) the team will be building a church and helping out the missionaries there as well as encouraging the local body of believers. no electricity or running water...its kinda like missionary survivor. I'm so pumped for how God is going to use us to impact this world for His kingdom. I'd really appreciate y'all praying for me. Going to a different country in this capacity is something quite different for me, but you have no idea how excited I am!

Let me know how you guys are doing!!!!!

Be proud...very proud!

A) I gave blood, left immediately, AND didn't pass out, despite copious warnings that without cookies I would probably be unable to take a single step.

B) After giving blood I played my soccer game :) A little weak, but still managed to move around.

C) The summers of working at a daycare finally paid off at my AWANA ministry. You gotta love dealing with young moms...

Life is NEVER dull

So, I thought school would be boring comapared to my summer...Then I went to church.

Several of my friends and I were headed to the same church this morning. We took two cars (because I have that many friends ;) ). My friend Bradley was following me since he wasn't familiar with the route to this particular church. About a mile from the church is a stoplight. After going through the intersection I looked back and thought he had gotten stuck at the light since he wasn't behind me. The church was only another mile down the road and so I and the girls in my car went on to the church. We waited around, but no Bradley or the rest of the gang. The boys arrived sometime later, explaining that the car wouldn't go into gear. A couple from the church had given them a ride the rest of the way.

After church we called triple A and they said they had  a tow truck within fifteen minutes of us and he would call when he was within 5 minutes. Well, I dropped six of the eight people crammed in my CRV off to grab some lunch at the mall food court. An hour, two policeman, and several cell phone calls later the tow truck arrives.  As much as I enjoy sitting in my car on an exit ramp waiting for the tow truck to get my friends car, I am very glad to be back safe and sound at the dorm.

Here's the deal: What comes to mind when you say God is "awesome" or "powerful" or "bigger than my problems". Lately I feel that when I say these things or use other typical adjectives, I don't think of anything. I mean when you say, for instance, God is omnipotent; where do you begin to wrap your mind around that?

I know, you are thinking, "There are things about God we will never understand until we get to heaven." That's not good enough. It can't be. There has to be a jump off point to start thinking about it, way before you can simply right it off as unfathomable. Perhaps its like if you have ever flown out West. You look down and see large expanses of land marked off by enormous rock formations. When you think about God creating all that you start to wrap your mind (even if it is far to simplified) around how "big" our God is. It just seems that the typical adjectives work when God is doing something wonderful and amazing that is good in our lives, but just by His existence he surpasses all those simple words. I want to figure out how to express that part of God.

The worship songs and hymns have great words and muxic but lately I feel as though when I sing those words of adoration to God, I have no idea what the actually mean.

Maybe I just need to hit the "refresh" button on my spiritual life. It just seems that the words I use to describe God are becoming over used to the point of vain repetition.  I feel sorta like this: What if your Mom was a chef of world renown. All that you had ever eaten of her cooking was some Kraft mac and cheese from the box. Everyday you told her "Mom, you are the best cook in the world." Its true, but you have never gotten a glimmer of what makes that statement true.

Does this make any sense to someone besides me? I thought that typing it out might help me sort this out...but I'm still not settled.

Well, compared to being chased and having my tonsils removed, life hasn't been all that exciting recently. Its nice to be back at school with my friends :) The strangest thing was that this year it was harder to leave my friends at home than it was my freshman year...yeah, I know I'm wierd.

I hate required new editions of books. They are causing a severe dent in my bank account.

The weather here has been b-e-a-utiful. How long will it last? lol.
