Today's Artists: The Carpenter's Union, Cary, Carl and Mike, Cascade, and Ron Case and Phil Butin.

THE CARPENTER'S UNION

I'm aware of one LP on the Today label "The Carpenter's Union" (Today T503, orobably 1972 release). A five piece male/female combo from Canada. That's all I know. Anyone else have more info?

CARY, CARL & MIKE

Cary is Cary Grubbs (guitar)....Carl is Carl Imes (guitar) and Mike is Mike Joiner (electric bass). Only LP I know of is "Sing a New Song" (RSR Records 672, possibly 1975). Recorded in North Carolina.

CASCADE

Australian trio with members John Uebel, Malcolm Barnett, and Peter "Sid" Sinclair. Only 1 album I know of, "Taken by Surprise" (Rhema RH025, circa 1979)

RON CASE & PHIL BUTIN

I've managed to contact Butin and will have more on them later. He did two LPs that I know of right now...

Test...

Apparently in my quest to make this site turn up more on hit counters, I've done something that makes it flaky on a couple entries. Lesson learned....sorry if one of the entries you wished to respond to vanished into the ether....

Today's Artists I'm Hunting for: John Carlson Band, Steve Carney, Carpenter's Apprentice, and the Carpenter's Tools.

JOHN CARLSON BAND

Only 1 album I'm aware of...1981's "No Longer Strangers" (Celesta CR-0030). Ken Scott compares their sound to Atlanta Rhythm Section, Talbot Brothers or Thomas Goodlunas and Panacea. Carlson was songwriter and lead vocalist, Rudy Bruggeman played guitar, and Scott Huebl was on the bass. I have several emails out to potential Carlsons and I;believe, after finding his name mentioned in a "Turkey Trot" race in Denver that Huebl resides there...although I've not been able to verify that yet. Stay tuned...

STEVE CARNEY

One LP I know about "The Dust of Death" (SRS 9864). Probably released later 70s althought the date is uncertain. This is all I know of this album. I've located a pastor by that name and emailed him. Interestingly, enough, he lives in my old hometown(!)

CARPENTER'S APPRENTICE

British outfit. 5 piece band. Their only LP I've heard of is VERY obscure...reportedly only 500 copies made. "Changes" (SRS 12107) and it may be from 1971 althought that date isn't certain. Gentle folk sound.

THE CARPENTER'S TOOLS

Washington, DC based group featured Patrick Callahan, Kim Thomas, and Jim Thomas (last two married?) 9 of the 10 songs on the only LP I know of , 1979's "In His Hands" (Chanan TO-007), were written by Jim and Kim. Pat Terry bandmembers Randy Bugg and Sonny Lallerstedt involved in producing. Callahan handled guitar duties for the group.

A minor change to the site now: I've adjusted the title at the top of the page in hopes of attracting more hits from search engines....but the link is still the same. Another entry coming later today....

Today's Artists: Canaan, Canadian Rock Theatre, Candle Factory and Ken Canedo.

SANDY CAMPI

Only 1 album I'm aware of "Your Smile" (Lamb and Lion. LL-1027,1977)  Chris Christian produced it.

CANAAN

English band. 2 LPs that I know of: "Canaan" (Dovetail DOVE 3,1973) and "Out of the Wilderness" (Myrrh UK MYR 1042,1976). That's all I know...

CANADIAN ROCK THEATRE

Up with People type huge band. 1 LP that I'm aware of: "Canadian Rock Theatre" (Lion LN-1003,1971).

CANDLE FACTORY

British band with one private press LP "Nightshift" (CAVS ST 020,1977). Don't know any of the band members.

KEN CANEDO

One LP, "Take Some Time" (FEL 692,1978). Guest help from Joseph Brennan on vocals and Father John Urell (vocals also). The Archivist says it's likely the very last LP released on the FEL label.
