| RIP Ching-Fu Yen. My Grandfather
5/15/24 - 8/26/07
A father, a soldier, and a survivor.
My grandpa is a great person, he had always taught me and my brothers many things about life. He will always say with the leftover times you have in a day, you can create a great career. I learned that what he meant is not only about my career. What he meant is that we have to use our time wisely. Life is just too short to be wasted away. He had worked hard throughout the years to raise his family and to survived the war that had ravaged his homeland. He fought with the Kuomintang forces against the Communist forces during the civil war. He was amongst the last of the troops to withdraw to Taiwan. Even after the war he remained on duty because his country needed him. When he finally left the armed forces he became a construction worker to support his family. Raising three kids during those times were so much tougher than anything here. During that time period Taiwan is constantly under the threat of war. Not to mention most of Taiwan was undeveloped. However he managed to pull him and his family through these trying times. In the time of Taiwan's new prosperity he manages to emigrate to America along with my Grandma. With their help my father is able to come to the United States. And with my Father's help my Mom is able to bring us here. I am grateful of what my Grandpa has done. Without him I wouldn't be able to come to this country and become the person I am. It was his through his perseverance and his determination that our family has become the way it is today. He loved all his children and grandchildren very much, he would do any for them when they asked. I just know that now he is in a better place. His struggles for the past few years is over, he is at peace now. This note is dedicated to him, his life, and his accomplishments.
RIP Grandpa
Your Grandson
Michael Yen
