I'm not dead yet!    just very very busy!

right now I'm in Colombus, OH, waiting in my truck.....the weather is getting a bit colder, and the roads are starting to eat more trucks.   And deer, though I suppose I'm the only one interested in that....

Ever hit a deer?   I have, it's.... messy.

I'll be out till almost Christmas, than it's back to my wife and dogs and cat and bird.....menagerie, I suppose you could call it.

we have a golden retreiver, Lila (the best behaved dog, and the cutest!) and a chihuahua, Chalupa (not my idea, the dog, or its name!!!)  and a Conjure (pronounced kon-yer)  named....well, haven't settled on a name yet, but he/she seems to like "Ratchet".....we haven't named any of the native wildlife surrounding our house.    Yet.     Y'know, large spiders, frogs, snakes, praying mantids, centipedes (6" long, or longer!)  mosquitoes galore.....and a little thing called a love bug (Plescia nearctica...a relative of the march fly, of the family Bibionidae)  that arrives in droves in the spring and in the late summer..

not to mention hurricanes!!!   We survived practically unscathed, as did our house....thanks for everyone who thought about us during that time...

still looking for a job that keeps me closer to home.....pray about that, if you would be so kind....

How y'all doin?  Haven't heard from too many people recently, but I'm trying to get better about that.

anyhow, hope y'all have had a happy Sunday

Shalom!

thought for the day:  Try sticking pieces of tape to the bottom of your cat's feet- it's hours of entertainment!

and I almost forgot.....If you see an ad in the paper for a truck with a 10,000lb wench.....don't go to see her....they mean 'winch'......

hey y'all....
I'm sitting in Salt Lake City, UT, for a bit...
trying to wait patiently for a load out of here....oh well, gives me (us) time to relax.

I'll get to go home in about 10 days, which is really exciting, since when I was home last, I got the extreme priviledge of moving most of my (and Heather's, of course) furniture into our new house.   Her sister's were there last week, so they helped some, too, I suppose!

Please forgive any spelling or syntax errors....I've been out of college for eight months, and that's almost a year!   hmm, math skills still working, I see.

The road is typically a great place to work, except for the occasional numbskull who thinks its pretty cool to go 55 in a 75mph zone.   I mean seriously, some people get frightened of speeds over 35!!!  Then there are the arrogant people who think, since they have such a nice sports car, that the speed limit doesn't apply to them.  Ha.  I saw one of those arguing his point to a Highway Patrol Officer in AZ, after he passed by me doing (guessing) around 100mph.

My co-driver and I got to drive through an incredible storm in CO a coupla days ago....quarter sized hail, continuous lightning and thunder, and some really ominous (no, not cumulo-nimbus!) clouds that were eerily greenish.

That's one thing that makes this job completely worth it-  We get to see awesome scenery, incredible storms, and really cool trucks for a living!
However, being away from my wifey....yes, wifey....any married folks reading this will understand...is really killing me.....

hmm....I have to go.....our load is ready....
take care of yourselves!

Shalom!!!

Well, Howdy from Portland, OR.

In response to your question Matt, no, I am not on vacation anymore.

truck driving may sound like a cross country vacation, but it is legitimate work, too!!!

Heather and I just bought a nice little house just south of Mobile, AL....
It's right by a river!    I love it, but she keeps finding bugs....literally!

Anyhow, I've got to get a quick-stepping here.

Did you hear about the two TV antennaes that got married?  The ceremony was horrible...(wait for it)....but the reception was great!!!

SHALOM!!!!!
