Hi Family and Friends in the US,

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry for not up-dating my site for week4.  I've just started school and in that process of adding, dropping, and changing classes.  It's really hectic right now for me.  In fact, just today, I sat in a class for 45 minutes before I realized I was in the wrong class!  It happend to be a biology class, which was the class I was trying to attend.  Oh well.  Anyway, honestly, I haven't any interesting pictures of week four on campus.  Any suggestions on what pictures I should take while I'm at uni?  or the city?  I have to ride the train to school everyday, and becuase I don't qualify for consession tickets, I have to fork up $5.90 everytime I ride!!!  And I'm STILL waiting for financial aid.  But God provides, amen.  Still enjoying my time, I am.  And I'm use to crossing roads now too!  I look right everytime I cross instead of left (I almost got ran over for looking left instead of right).  Well, lots of homework, paper due this friday, and test next tuesday.  Just like home!  I will definitely post for next week.  By the way, the pages are getting longer with each entry.  Does anyone know what I can do to shorten them?  Mayby do what xanga does with the previous entries?

Went to a charismatic church last Sunday... <shudder>.

Unfortunately, I won't be updating this blog too much during my stay in Australia...too informal.  Instead, and mainly for my family and church family, I do have a website which I will update weekly with postcards and letters.  Because I don't want to have this website in public domain, I'm setting this one appart for invitations only.  If you would like to have the link, please e-mail me at leonathan05-list0605@yahoo.com.  Hope you understand.

wing of one of the four planes on which I flew

Hello from Australia!  Yesterday, I finally disembarked from my 23 hour flight from Houston to Melbourne!  I was very happy to STAND in line for another hour trying to get through customs.  I never flew on a plane that big before; it was a Boeing 747.  They showed like 8 movies, one of which I watched.  Thank God I did not get sick!  I sat next to a couple who lives in Sydney.  They were traveling back from the States after a two-year post-doc research program in UCLA.  Anyway, the flight was long as I have no-doubt communicated, but luckily, I suffer no jet-lag.  It is 9:23 PM on a very frigid winter July 1st night.

Lynh walking into the foyer of the house

My two cousins Thao and Lynh picked me up from the International Terminal of the Melbourne Airport.  They played hosts and tour guides that day.  I was taken home (their home) in a car that had its driver seat on the right side and passenger on the left.  I met my other cousin, Daniel, and their parents, or my aunt and uncle.  Everyone was every welcoming and hospitable.  It was 10 in the morning when I arrived after my 23 hour flight, but I wasn't tired.  We talked about Australian stuff.  They do not use the term G'day as most Americans would like to think.

there are two buttons at the top, a small a large
for different flushing powers

Well, for those who are wondering, the water in toilets does siphon in the opposite direction than it does in the northern hemisphere.  But the first thing I noticed is that their toilets have two flush mechanisms: a half-flush and a whole-flush, for light loads and heavy loads, respectively.  They are self-explanatory.

I’m still in a state of utter excitement so as you can probably tell, my organization of this post is very poor. But thanks for reading it all the way through.

My room's a mess.  I'm in the process of packing to leave the northern hemisphere, but I have no clue where all my winter clothes went!  Oh well, I'll probably listen to all the suggestions, pack light and wait till I'm in my destination to shop for the clothes I need.

I'll miss all my firends and family, but I won't let a little think like that to stop me from keeping in touch!  Therefore, if you've changed your address recently (e-mail or mailing) and would like for me to email you or mail you a postcard while in Australia, please send me that information to the following temporary e-mail address:

Wow!  So exciting!  Winter a second time this year!
