| I think that it is impossible to write fiction when you feel like a pretentious twat while doing it. Therefore, authors have forgiven themselves for being pretentious twats.
I picked up this great album by Destroyer. "City of Daughters" it is called, the second album recorded by Destroyer. A lot of it is short acoustic songs, which are great. But then, there are some songs where he (Dan Bejar) has a backup band, drums, horns, beauty. Amazing album really, Destroyer is one of my favorite bands. Doesn't hold up to Destroyer's Rubies... but not much does.
I just heard a girl sobbing loudly outside of my window. I couldn't see her, but I wanted to ask her why she was crying. In my head, I came up with all sorts of possibilities.
-- She broke up with her boyfriend. -- Someone she loved was hurt or died. -- She was homesick.
What do you think? |

| Yo yo yo.
I'm alive and in Berkeley. My new place is nice, nicer than my last apartment. I have a California driver's license now. I don't have a car. I have two David Bowie records, an Echo and the Bunnymen record, and an Elvis Costello record. Rejoice!
I have things on my walls.
