  • The road is closed...

It is about 11:am and we are stuck in Laramie, WY due to the fact that they closed I-80.  We have reserved a room at Super 8 but we cannot check in until 1:pm.  They are saying it could be closed until Monday, but Chris says there may be a small window at about 5:am tomorrow when they may open it for a short time.  Thankfully, Super 8 didn't know that I-80 was closed and so we got their regular off peak rate of 55.00 per night.  I am so glad we got here when we did.  Pray for us that we use wisdom on when we should try to make the rest of this trip.  God is good, and he has our back.  They closed I-80 just 15 minutes before we got here.  Imagine what would have happened if we had gotten her just 20 minutes earlier.

  • Give me a home where the buffalo roam... (cue music)

We have made it to Cheyenne, and though we had a late start due to equipment failure (turn signal incident) we had a pretty uneventful day considering all the threats of bad weather we have been hearing from our family and friends.  The skies were clear for the majority of the trip, and when it did start clouding up, we got nothing.  I did see on the horizon some areas around us were getting some precipitation, but we were dry all the way.  Funny thing about Nebraska, it is much like North Dakota in that it is alot like a cookie sheet and you can see for miles and miles.  We entered the Mountain Time Zone just on the western side of North Platte, NE and now we are trying to adjust to the new time.  Really, I should be asleep, but I wanted you all to know how things were going.  Have no news on the tenant situation, but I can assure you, we are not going to put up with this much longer.  Well, that bed is calling me.  Have a great night!

  • On the Road Again...(cue music)

Well, we successfully loaded the truck with all our "stuff" (loosely interpreted)  The preceding sentence has been edited for the virgin eyes.  Ok, enough silliness.  We had lots of help, from Chris' parents, to Chris' brother, to my now property manager who is also one of my dearest friends, to her kids, and our niece and nephews, and of course my husband, son, and me.  Then, after a repair by UHaul on one of the turn signal lights on the tow dolly, and after a little drama from our tenants of our first rental, we were off.  We stopped about 1 mile east of Warrenton, MO to sleep for the night and then we took off this morning and made it all the way to York, NE, where we discovered the "fixed" (also loosely interpreted) light had taken a leave of absence. It was AWOL, and so we called UHaul who promised us we will not see anyone until morning as they just didn't have anyone on call this evening.  We were trying to make it to North Platte which is still 2 1/2 hours from here, but I guess that is not going to happen, so we are held up her at the Yorkshire Hotel.  It may be a late night tomorrow as hubby wants to make it to Evanston tomorrow evening.  With more drama from the tenants today, and the fact that they still have not paid January's rent, I think we will have to act on what we have been trying to avoid.  If you are a prayer warrior, please pray for God's favor, and wisdom in regards to handling the tenants.  Be blessed, and remember, do not complain about what you allow.

About Me

  • Actually in Wyoming just 2 miles from the Utah border, and not anywhere near Cheyenne or Casper, so I picked the Salt Lake City metro. I am a stay at home mom who loves to surf the internet. Being a Representative who helps others set up travel agencies, I love travelling and meeting new people. My wonderful, adorable, and sexy husband is working a full time job. My talented, smart, computer savvy, cute, 6 year old son is the joy of my life and keeps me going by making sure I get out of bed every day at 8:am. I enjoy many things, and God has blessed me greatly!!!
