    a week later

We all made it alive and pretty well. Malachi has been doing pretty good. We started him back on meds. After talking to the doc, we all realized it is more his impulsiveness and anger management than anything. He gets angey and reacts before thinking. We have started a new behavior modification plan and it seems to be working well. After we get all of the meds worked out, things will be much better.

Liam is doing very well with the new behavior mod system. Everything is about how many tokens he can get. He has actually scooped the cat box TWICE now. This is the only time he has ever been able to do it without running away  gagging.

The heating element is out in our dryer. I went out and bought a clothesline. I LOVE the smell of line dried clothes, just not all of the time it takes to do it. There is no such thing as asking the kids to swap laundry real fast. Liam likes hanging the clothes out. I think it is the tokens he gets for doing it LOL

John is reading, " The Golden Compass", to us at night. He read the book and then we all watched the movie. He was so disappointed about the lack of story, he insisted on reading it. It is so nice to sit as a family and listen rather than drone in from of the tv or have the kids bouncing around killing each other.

I am also starting a new household routine to help get the house in shape and keep it that way. It is the Flylady system. She is a bit crazy but hell if works, who am I to argue. So I am off to shine my sink!

my child is NOT a monster

I am having issues tonight and a glass of wine is not helping the anger for idiots. My son and I both need to go back to therapy but it is $25 a visit and are already in collections with them... oh well looks like xanga therapy is here to stay!

How do you deal with a kid that has teased all of his life and is bigger than most everyone?

If it was not for a 16 year old, I would be at the sheriff's station or at the hospital. This kid's bday is coming up and I want to get him something really great that is very cheap, any ideas?

I am also thinking of taking Malachi camping for a real heart to heart therapy trip. Does anyone have any advise on how to get through to a 12 year old that is pulling knives on a foster girl that is 4 years older than him? I think he has a death wish.

If it were not for our chickens, we would have completely lost it by now! They are so wonderful.

Sorry this is so random, my brain is jumping from thought to thought trying to not deal with shit.

*a note from John- I wanna live on a street that people treat each other like humans!

ok time to watch a movie or cry or get drunk or something...

    Violent tendencies

my son pulled a knife on a kid down the street this evening...

I am not sure how to handle it, other than not letting him see the light of day for the rest of his life.

    Wonderful night with the girls

I went out for our Nonviolent Communication meeting and we bonded. The other 2 women are members of TVUUC and I am all but an actual member. We laughed about silly life stuff and remembered the "Ole days". We did a lot of sharing of mundane things and profound things. I love my girls. I needed tonight very much. I have A LOT of soul searching to do. I need some ME time. As silly as it sounds, I am going to do it at the gym, on the treadmill. I used to do a lot of thinking there. I am going to have to bring a note pad and figure out my priorities, my goals.

I start my new job tomorrow. I am cleaning mom's house. It is a job I can get free coffee and bring the kids with me. What more can you ask LOL

ok off to schedule my life...

    No more meat birds

All of the chickens we got for meat are now just that, meat. We killed the last of the 31 chickens this morning. My fridge is FULL of aging meat. I was going to take a picture but my camera is having issues. We have been killing birds every weekend for the last 3 weeks. I am SO over plucking/skinning and eviserating chickens. We will be ordering more when we have the money to. They are such nasty birds, but they taste so good and are cheap. Tomorrow with be the first morning in 3 months I won't have to get up early to feed them. YAY

We still have out laying hens, 12 hens and 2 roosters. They are so sweet. When they are all grown up they will look like this:

This is a Barred Rock Hen, we have 3 of them. One is named Arabeth. We don't know the names of the others yet. They are too hard to tell apart.

This is a Barred Rock Rooster. We have 2 of them, Quark and Rom. For any non-Deep Space 9 fans, they are Ferengi barkeeps.

This is a Red Sexlink. We have 5 hens. Buttercup (Princess Bride), Spot (she has a spot on her back), Fiona (from Celtic lore), and we haven't found names for the other 2 yet.

This is a Buff Orpington. We have 4 of these, 1 died the first night. They are SO SWEET. We have Moogie (Quark and Rom's mom from DS9), Camilla (Gonzo's wife), Willow and Tara (from Buffy) and one we don't have a name for yet, maybe Cordy.

I will post actual pics of our girls when I figure out what is going one with my camera.

The job hunt sucks, but must be done. I am going to be cleaning mom's house until I can come up with something better.  She has been paying to to redo her studio in her base ment. I am done with the painting and almost done with the flooring. Then comes the fun part, moving furniture and organizing.

I got a free month membership at the Rush. I can't wait to get back to the gym. I go for my first visit tomorrow. I NEED to get in the pool and on the treadmill. I have to do some physical therapy on my back. I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease last week. This is actually a good thing. There is a treatment for this that is more effective that the treatments for Fibromyalgia.

ok I am tired, will post more when I have a chance. It may be a while. Between dr. appts, work, the gym, homeschooling, chickens, gardens, Co-op and Zoo classes starting this week, time is a precious thing.
