  • Experiment with Live Writer

I'm trying this out, making a blog entry with Live Writer to see how it works. So far it seems plain enough though I'm wondering why the picture keeps moving down20080608_22, seems OK now though. Keep the margins small. Just a case of getting used to some new editing settings. Placing the picture and wrapping this text is certainly easier than on Xanga's own editor so far. In fact, I doubt if this would be possible on that.

Once you've downloaded it, here's a link to the Xanga Team's blog on how to configure Live Writer.

I took the picture of the swan while we were in Christchurch, he'd been zipping along in the strong current on this bit of river below..

    Map image

Now, I AM impressed by the ease of finding that map and placing it on here!

The photo of the swan was taken by the greener bit at the bottom. I think it's private ground for a fishing club but the gate is always open. A man came out and watched us from further down river on the opposite bank to make sure we weren't up to no good I suppose. We just fed the swan some bread, took pictures and went home.

Well, for a first time, Live Writer has been surprisingly easy to use. I'll see how it publishes now. Just one complaint so far - no smilies! Maybe I just haven't found them yet. ......( You can add them afterwards!) Also I added the border and fill colour after publishing. Maybe they can be done on Live Writer also? I'm not totally happy with the layout as is but it'll do. I'm never totally happy with anything but that's a whole other subject.

About Me

  • I'm 56 years old, I've lived in a faded seaside town on the south coast of England called Hastings for 36 years. I have four grown up children by my first wife all of whom live in this same town whichI'm very happy about. I married again and moved up to East Anglia for 10 unsuccessful religious years. I returned, divorced and disillusioned to Hastings in 2000. I've lived in the same flat here ever since, I love being by the sea. It's on top of a big hill and you can see for 20 miles west out of my back windows. Hastings Old Town is 10 minutes away down the hill. I'm medically retired now. I have a male partner now, my Reg. We've been together for four years and we love and are well suited to each other. He's in his 50's too. Both our families have been accepting of our relationship which is fortunate. We both enjoy digital photography and like to go for PhotoWalks.
