| Life is much better now. My calendar is filling up with a trip to Montreal in a couple weeks, then off to Alabama, Tennessee to see Dana (yeah!), maybe Louisiana then back to New York for 3 days before driving down to NYC, Virgina and North Carolina. I'm looking forward to being out of town - that what I won't be expecting anything close to familiar. No trips planned for the month of May, but hopefully I'll feel better adjusted and will actually want to talk to people about China by that time. Roberta's wedding is this saturday and there is a big snowstorm coming in on Friday and Saturday am. Wedding is at 4pm, so I think no worries, but it is only increasing the bride's stress level. After going to 3 hairdressers for a trial run on her wedding hair, guess who is actually doing her hair for the wedding? I tried the other day and it came out pretty good, as long as I don't have to do pincurls on the top of her head. Tip of the week: Don't ever live with a bride the week before her wedding - run far far away!

| Life really sucks. Not all the time, but these past 2 days have been really awful. Problems at my church and my best friend is getting married. I've known about the wedding for a long time, know and love them both, but I'd never seen them together 'til yesterday. That was the same day as the horrible church news. Can you say emotional overload? As if the jet lag and reverse culture shock weren't enough.

| For some reason, I haven't gotten any xanga subscription emails for a few months and just realized it. Hopefully i fixed the problem. I'm back in the USA. Still recovering from jetlag. Here's what my trip was like: wheels broke off of my new suitcase on the flight to Guangzhou, but they gave me a really nice new one for free! Overnights with new friends in GZ who are a really cool family. No more free alcohol on international flights - so sad! In Minneapolis/St Paul got through customs and had to walk a mile to my gate, and no time to stop and eat. of course, we pull away from the gate and they close the runway to plow the snow. An hour later we take off, and then just before we land the pilot says "We will land in 2 minutes. Be prepared to evacuate. Listen to the flight attendant." so we land and are immediately surronded by fire trucks. in the end it was nothing - they thought there was smoke in the cargo hold, but probably bad sensor. At dinner an hour later I was so dizzy i thought i might pass out - it had been 9 hours since my last meal. Ju & Liz: just want you to know I've had 3 meals/day every day since i got home, plus snacks. My theory: USA = extra pounds well, my sister just got here, so more later.

| I'm freezing! I don't know what the temperature here is, but it's cold. I'm beginning to feel like my mom - I've worn long johns for 4 days in a row and the trend will continue until spring i think.
Prison Break is the new show at our house, but I'm missing House and the happy endings.
hoping to go to vietnam for a week on our way to Thailand. y'all are welcome to join us. I'm looking forward to a break at the beach - and then back to cold weather in the USA, and snow! I hate the cold, but the snow makes it worth it.
