Prayers as I go to China...

I covet your prayers as our team embarks on a English-teaching trip to China in July.  My thoughts run into each other in a chaotic mess when i think of the logistics, but i'm at peace as i look forward for the opportunities to come.  See you back here soon!

  • Team Unity: Spending time with a group of people for an extended period can bring about tension.  While the team possesses good chemistry, it’s been my experience that a lack of prayer coverage in this area often leads us to lose sight of what the Holy Spirit may be doing.  Pray that God would not allow it to be a distraction and to keep us focused at the task on hand.
  • Health: While we are mindful to get proper rest, being in a foreign environment may lead some to be more susceptible to sickness.  Pray that God would preserve our bodies so that we can use it to be His hands and feet to bring about the Good News.
  • Safety: Traveling to China will take almost takes a day with multiple methods of transportation.  Also, mobilizing a large group can be challenging.  In short, please pray for protection and that our fear of the Lord would be greater than any fear or apprehension spoken from Satan’s lies.
  • Discernment: As the FECC team teaches various classes & meets with students; pray that God would give us His eyes to see the needs of the people, His ears to hear the cries of His heart, and His voice in order to speak the words that God wants them to hear.  We ask that our ministry will be lead by the Holy Spirit and not by our own agenda.
  • Personal Growth: While I do not know what to completely expect while in China, I am firmly convinced that God has been preparing me to make a spiritual impact for my teammates and those that I will encounter during our stay there.  Many people have invested their time, energy and prayer into me and I pray that the Holy Spirit will empower me and my FECC team members to be bold in testifying the life-changing truth of just how great our God really is.
Thank you too all my brothers & sisters...God's been using each of you to be a blessing to me.

p.s. I'll be praying for you Vision people as you go for Round 2...say hi to Pastor Stefan for me!

A few snaps of the recent Mexico trip this past weekend:

Singing praise songs with the local kids!

Performing the "heart skit" that was picked up from my time in Vision!

Making kids cry. =(

Trying to cheer them up as well.  =)

Thanks to the whole team, the New Yorkers, Pat, The Wongs, Yues, Tans, and CHANGS, Gary, my boys Jack & Stan...it was a great time!

Current Praises:

1)     Getting the blessing to go on the China English-teaching trip in July!

2)     Realizing that God not only puts up with me, but still loves me despite the times where I act like the prodigal son’s prideful older brother.

3)      Having the time to journal in the stillness of my room before the start of a day.

4)      Dad finding a job that allows him to carpool with my mom…the idea is strangely adorable.

5)     Spending time with my bros as we yell at the refs, boo the Celtics and cheer on the Lakers to the Championship!

6)      The learning process that goes on as we mark our 10th.

7)     Seeing my dog excitedly wag her tail when she realizes I’m back home.

8)       Being able to attend the upcoming Mexico trip to visit Rudy, Diose, & the baby.

9)    Finishing one of my dental school applications.

10)  Receiving fresh manna by listening to Pastor Greg Laurie’s messages on my way to work.

Subject: I am Adam

I am: still growing up
I think: in order to learn about the world around me & the one who created it
I know: that God is good all the time and all the time God is good
I want: to be a History Maker
I have: done my best to learn from those ahead of me & pass down wisdom to those behind me
I wish: I knew God’s heart & plan for me apart from my own desires
I hate: fake people
I miss: my family in HK
I fear: of wandering in the desert like the Israelites due to my own stubbornness towards God
I feel: blessed to be able to be surrounded by the people in my life
I hear: Vision songs playing in my head, and the news on TV about the need in Myranmar
I smell: like latex gloves with a mix of my deodorant
I crave: for some good sushi & green tea mochi
I search: my heart and my thoughts and see if they are pleasing to God
I wonder: how the story of my life will play out
I regret: nothing in my life, because God can redeem all of those mistakes
I love:  good conversations, intimate worship times, and laughing until it hurts
I ache:  for those that cannot or refuse to see just how much God can change their life for the better if they would only open their heart
I care: too much about what people think/say about me at times
I always: think that God smiles at us even when we don’t give Him a reason to
I am not: disciplined enough
I believe: in God’s tremendously great love for us and His power to change the mess this World is in one life at a time
I dance: when no one is looking or someone is dancing more ridiculous than me
I sing: LOUD when I am driving in my car or taking a shower
I don't always: know how be a good friend and a loving person to others
I fight: fat by trying to work out & pushing myself in the gym
I write: in order to reminisce about the past, give thanks for the present, & have insight about my future; plus hopefully write a book with all the profound quotes I’ve gathered
I win: because I have a wonderful girl in my life
I lose: confidence in my abilities when I let myself & other people down
I never: think that drinking alcohol is a good excuse to act stupid or perverted
I confuse: the names of people with their faces
I listen: to people speak before I ramble on with my own thoughts to others
I can usually be found: talking with people on the phone, in person or online
I am scared: that my relatives will pass away and go to hell without ever knowing the salvation that God offers
I need: & look forward to quiet times with God
I am happy about: being able to spend times on a date & watching Kobe Bryant make spectacular plays as the Lakers win

I am who I am: because of those that have invested their life into mine; but mainly due to God’s grace & mercy in my life

Profound Quote of the Moment:

Prayer
lets you speak to God.

Meditation lets God speak to you.

Both are essential to becoming a Friend of God .
