What Was That?

This is my first entry in a long while.  Gonna make this short for the lunch break.

Anyone see the 2007 MTV VMA's last night?  The whole concept for the show was intersting I thought.  Two performances stood out to me:  Britney Spears' performance and Chris Brown's.  Britney Spears was out of shape, lip-synced horribly, and was unenthusiastic.  She should have worn more clothes.  Chris Brown, on the other hand, had the best performance that night.  Simply, he straight tore it up.

Northern Liberties is an up and coming area.  Very nice places to live, eat, drink, and bowl around there.  Definitely got to eat and bowl there sometime.

Eagles, Eagles, Eagles...  horrible game.  Special teams blew it but the offense can definitely do better.  I'll stick with them because you can't count them out.  We all know what happened last year.

I finally joined Facebook because I started getting bored with MySpace.  Look for me and add me if you're on it!

Fifth of May...

So what are people up to this weekend?

Saturday night is the much anticipated Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather fight.  It looks like a bunch of us are going to watch it at a friend's house in Cherry Hill.  Watching in a public place (bars, restaurants, etc.) would be a bit of a hassle to find a comfortable seat to watch it unless you get there early.

But if anyone knows a nice place in Philly to watch the fight let me know because we are also going out to Philly for Cinco de Mayo. It'd be more of a convenience to not drive around so much, that is if the conditions are right.

For Sunday, Seis de Mayo, we're going to celebrate by watching "Spiderman 3" at the IMAX Theater in King of Prussia, kind of like what we did for "300" (had a group of about 15 people).  I'd like to give you an estimate of around what time we would watch it, but showtime information for the theater is currently not available for May 6.

Anyone down for any of these?  If you're interested, you know how to contact me.

I Think It's About Time For An Entry...

Looks like I haven't updated in about 3 months.  I've been either busy or lazy, but I guess more lazy.  I go on MySpace a lot more than I go on here, and therefore, it is usually up to date with pictures and stuff.  For January and February, here's a glimpse of what went on:

The month of March was pretty busy for me:

To start it off, I went on a four day Carnival cruise to the Bahamas.  Hamisi & Tanya invited those who were able to go to join them.  A group of about 30 people went.  We flew down to Jacksonville, FL, where the ship would set sail from.  The cruise took us to Freeport on the 2nd day, Nassau on the 3rd day, and spent the day at sea on the 4th.  Hamisi & Tanya also had a wedding ceremony on the ship on the 4th day.  We all had a great time.  It was my first cruise and now in the future, I know what to look for when planning another one.

Next up was my mom's cousin's wedding.  He and his wife had the wedding ceremony and reception at "The Mansion" in Voorhees, NJ (the same place where Allen Iverson had his wedding I believe).  The place was amazing.  Everything was really nice, the food was great, and oh yeah, open bar for like 5 hours.  It was nice to see all my relatives which I don't see too often.  Right after the wedding met up with Jordan in Old City for his birthday and St. Patrick's Day.  He also had another celebration the next day at Friday's and later on, saw the movie "300" at the IMAX Theater at King of Prussia.

The following weekend I played in a tournament at Five Points with 2 of my teammates from my Thursday league team and picked up 3 more people.  I had a lot of fun and we did pretty well after getting used to each other.  Right after our last game I had to rush to shower and change to go to Hamisi & Tanya's wedding reception in Delran, NJ.  They didn't want to hire a photographer so they asked me to be the photographer, albeit, an amateur one.  Their reception was a fun time.  We were with friends and lots of familiar faces.  The food was good and I ate well, but most of my time down time from picture taking was standing in front of the bar (and of course, it was another open bar).  At about 10:30pm, everyone gradually started to leave.  Near 11:00pm, I decide to leave and head out with Jason & Sharon to Nieng's house to meet up with the usual crew for Game Night.

The next weekend was May's birthday in Chinatown.  Same place as last year.  Pretty good food, cake, and other things...  After dinner I met up with everyone for Bowling Night at good old Playdrome.  I wish I could have bowled though.  Here are some pictures from March:

Well, those are the major things I did recently.  Can't wait for warmer weather for basketball, grass and sand volleyball, biking, and the beach (AVP at Seaside Heights).  I THINK I'm going to plan a group summer trip.  If anyone is interested and has any suggestions, let me know.

Christmas Weekend...

I hope everyone has had a fun and happy holidays.  Definitely did a lot of things this weekend, with my weekend kinda starting early...

Thursday - Friday:
After work, I went out to a Bar-B-Que restaurant in Cherry Hill called Red Hot & Blue with Andy, May, and Yoon.  They wanted to take me out to dinner for my birthday because some of them won't be around near/on the actual day to do anything.  There are some great ribs there which you should definitely try out if you like it.  All we did was stuff ourselves with food and drinks, and talked for a while.  After dinner, I met up with Lily, Cesar, and Joanie at P.J. Whelihan's.  I had no idea P.J.'s was becoming a hot spot in South Jersey.  It was amusing to say the least...  Tried to meet up with Andy, May, and Yoon again because they went out to Philly, and didn't get a chance to.  I probably should have called it a night earlier.  On Friday night I was going to go to 5 Points or go out to Philly.  I got lazy and was going to stay in, but Lily and Cesar dragged me out again to go to some South Jersey bar which turned out to have been closed for a while now.  So we ended up at P.J.'s once again.  We didn't stay long and decided to save our energy/money for Saturday night.

Saturday:
I do this every year to myself around this time:  I save my Christmas shopping for 1 to 2 days before Christmas!  I never do it on purpose of course, but it always turns out this way.  For most of the afternoon I drove around like crazy to buy my presents.  I intended to finish all my shopping during this time, and I ended up completing about half of my list.  It was tiring, so I went home to rest up and sleep.  Around 10:00pm, Lily, Joanie, Cesar and I go to Old City.  Our first stop was Jager's and then 32 Degrees.  Quang eventually comes to meet up, and then later on, Nieng, Anna, and Van meet up with us as well.  After a sufficent amount of rounds, we decide to pollute our bodies even more by going to Jim's Steaks to eat some healthy cheesesteaks.

Sunday:
Watched some football to start off the afternoon, further procrastinating my Christmas shopping duties part 2.  Eventually, I get out to finish my list with some help from Lana.  What a relief it was after that was all said and done!  Next year I'm gonna try to do my shopping early.  Let's see if that works...

At night I had 2 Christmas Eve celebrations to go to.  First was a Christmas Eve party at the Nop House.  I did not eat all day because I knew there was going to be plenty of good food at the party.  There was a great turnout of guests there, a combination of family and friends in the area.  We had some very lively conversations on various topics, all the while watching Jet Li's "Fist Of Legend" and one of the greatest movies of the 1908's:  "The Karate Kid Part II"!  Man this movie brings me back...  The scenary is beautiful, the acting skills of Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita was of course great, and the soundtrack was awesome (i.e. Peter Cetera - Glory of Love).  Even though I know we all loved this movie, we still couldn't help but get some jokes in.  It's so funny that every 15 minutes it seems "Daniel-san" is always on the ground getting beat up!

At 11:30pm, I leave the party but with the intention to go back; it'll turn out that I would be in no condition to drive back.  I left to meet up with Alex, Jason, and Hamisi at Tanya's.  I was real honored to be invited to their annual Christmas Eve get-together.  It is also Alex and Hamisi's birthday on December 24.  We stayed up literally all night just bonding - exchanged presents, ate, drank, conversed, and eventually playing Taboo.  It was a good night, and we definitely captured our moments!  Ended up getting home 6:30am and was mad tired, but spending time with family and friends that night was well worth it.

Monday:
After not having much sleep, I get up and get dressed for Christmas Day.  My mom, sister, and I do what we always do on holidays, had lunch, took pictures, and opened our gifts.  We gave each other very nice gifts.  I appreciate everything I received this year from family and friends.  To top off Christmas Day, I watched a great game with the Eagles beating those loser Cowboys and Terrible Owens!!!  What an accomplishment:  the Eagles  won 4 straight impressive games with the last 3 being road games against divisional rivals, they are guaranteed a playoff spot now, and can potentially win the NFC East next week giving them a home field in the wild card game.  Who knew that after losing McNabb, a humiliating loss to the Colts a month ago and dropping to 5-6 that the Eagles would be where they are right now?  This just shows you that the NFC sucks.  But whatever, I'll take it!

What a great Christmas weekend.  A lot of fun and moments to be remembered for years to come.  Happy Holidays everyone!

* Happy Birthday to me!  Today is my birthday...  give me my present!

** What's good for New Year's Eve?  Anybody know any parties or anything goin' on?  It seems like everyone is asking that question.  Let me know what's up.  I haven't finalized any plans myself...

Party at Fiso Lounge...

On Saturday, December 2nd, Alex R., Jason S., and Hamisi T., and I held our 2nd annual birthday bash at Fiso Lounge.  We had an open bar from 9:00pm to 10:00pm, free cover for our guests before 11:00pm, and a reserved area for our party on the 3rd floor.  Unfortunately, our section was a little cold because the heater wasn't working.  But after the room filled up and everyone started drinking it didn't seem that bad.  At round 11:30 (I think), we all started heading down to the 2nd floor for music, dancing, and more drinking.

There were so many pictures taken that night - flashes everywhere!  But I really didn't get to take all the pictures I wanted to and wasn't able to take pictures of everyone/everything at the party.  If I missed you, I didn't mean to and I'm really sorry.  It was a busy night...  I am in the process of collecting everyone's pictures and will eventually share them in an online album.  Until then, here is a slideshow of pictures taken from my camera and a few from others' cameras:

The whole night went pretty fast, and ended early for some people!  For those that didn't come, we hope that we catch you sometime soon.  For those that came, we thank you for coming and hope you had a lot of fun at the party!  Should we do it again next year.....?
