| movies , dolls- what do they teach our kids?
Are these dolls divalicious...or
totally inappropriate?
There's a new Barbie in town...and this one looks like she's
a fan of whips and chains. Black Canary Barbie, due out in September, is based
on a DC comic superhero of the same name. But some think this Barbie is way too
kinky for little girls.
Religious group Christian Voice said: "Barbie has always been
on the tarty side and this is taking it too far. A children's doll in sexually
suggestive clothing is irresponsible - it's filth." But Georgia
Payne--dominatrix, co-author of How to Be a Dominant Diva, and mom of
two--says the doll is harmless. "She doesn't even look like a dominatrix to
me...she looks more like a biker chick. She's in biker boots and biker
gloves...she doesn't have a whip in her hand. If my kids wanted it, I would buy it for
them. I don't see a problem with it."
What do you think of Black Canary Barbie?

‘Natural Born Killers’ fan charged with strangling girlfriend
Posted: July 22, 2008
Eric Tavulares was fascinated with the movie “Natural Born Killers.”
;
He told police he has seen it 10 or 20 times. He told police, according to a
complaint filed Monday, that he had been watching it Friday night, the night he
strangled his childhood sweetheart, 18-year-old Lauren Aljubouri.
According to the complaint:
Tavulares, also 18, told police he has had known Aljubouri since the second
grade and that they had been dating on and off since the sixth grade.
Aljubouri, who graduated in January from Arrowhead High School in Waukesha
County, got home around 10:45 p.m. Friday.
She and Tavulares lived in an apartment in the 2400 block of N. Frederick
Ave., not far from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where Aljubouri
planned to study graphic design. Tavulares planned to study fire science at
Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Tavulares told police they began watching “Natural Born Killers,” a 1994
movie directed by Oliver Stone in which the murder spree of two psychopathic
lovers becomes a media obsession.
They stopped the movie about halfway, Tavulares said, and went to bed.
“He stated he does not recall exactly what happened next,” the complaint
says, “but something caused him to switch mentally and he rolled over on Lauren
Aljubouri and he began strangling her.”
Within three or four minutes, Tavulares said, Aljubouri was dead.
“I just never dreamed this could happen to my daughter and that he would ever
hurt her like this in a million years,” said Lauren’s mother, Debbie Aljubouri,
sobbing during a phone interview Monday night. “We’re just absolutely
devastated. She had so much promise in the future, and it’s such a tragic
loss.”
Debbie Aljubouri said her daughter was independent, driven and intelligent,
determined to pursue her passion for the arts at UWM.
Lauren Aljubouri had worked at Hartbrook Cafe in Hartland from the time she
was 15 until June, painting a mural at the business just before she finished
working there, her mother said. Lauren Aljubouri graduated early and with honors
from her high school, she said.
Lauren Aljubouri handled her search for colleges on her own, telling her
mother that all she needed to do was attend the registration session at UWM,
Debbie Aljubouri said.
“There isn’t anything that girl couldn’t do, no matter what it was, and do it
well,” Debbie Aljubouri said. “She just handled everything.”
Lauren Aljubouri moved into her apartment within the past few weeks, her
mother said.
She had worked at Umami Moto, a Milwaukee restaurant, for about a month, said
Omar Shaikh, an owner of the business.
“She was a wonderful girl, rather quiet, but a very dependable, hard worker,”
Shaikh said. “She seemed like a young, happy girl.”
Lauren Aljubouri and Tavulares had been dating steadily for the past few
years, Debbie Aljubouri said.
“I knew him,” Debbie Aljubouri said. “He was turning his life around more
this year, I thought.”
Tavulares has convictions for resisting or obstructing an officer, possession
of an illegally obtained prescription drug and bail jumping, according to online
court records.
According to the criminal complaint:
Tavulares told police that when he realized Lauren Aljubouri was dead, he
jumped off her and attempted to resuscitate her.
A police officer arrived at their apartment shortly after 3 a.m.
Saturday.
Tavulares answered the door.
“I did it,” he told the officer, according to the complaint.
“I can’t believe it. I did it,” he said.
The officer followed Tavulares into the kitchen. Without being questioned,
according to the complaint, he again told the officer, “I killed her.”
Lauren Aljubouri was pronounced dead at the scene. Tavulares is charged with
first-degree reckless homicide. He faces up to 60 years in prison.
Debbie Aljubouri said she was upset Tavulares was not charged with
first-degree intentional homicide.
“I don’t understand this,” she said.

| opinions pleasewhat are we doing to our children? newsweek on costumes for kids pole dancing in the toy aisle news! LYNWOOD, Ill. - Be careful if you have saggy pants in the south Chicago suburb of Lynwood. Village leaders have passed an ordinance that would levy $25 fines against anyone showing three inches or more of their underwear in public. Eugene Williams is the mayor of Lynwood. He says young men walk around town half-dressed, keeping major retailers and economic development away. He calls the new law a hot topic. The American Civil Liberties Union says the ordinance targets young men of color. Young adults in the village, like 21-year-old Joe Klomes, say the new law infringes on their personal style. He says leaders should instead spend money on making the area look nicer. tami's note- i think the fine should be $50! it's called UNDERwear for a reason! should women wear pants? "I Timothy 2:9 says, " . . . that women adorn themselves in modest apparel . . ." "Apparel" today is a very general term that means "any article of clothing." But did you know that in 1611 the word "apparel" meant "loose, long flowing garment?" Look it up in an old Oxford English Dictionary that has the archaic meanings of words. Furthermore, the Greek word is katastole which is an EXACTING WORD, and it is the ONLY place in the Bible where it is used. There are lots of words for clothing, attire, etc., but this word comes from a verb form which means "to lower." It denoted a loose-fitting outer garment, which was LONG. Paul used this word specifically to tell women that they are to wear long DRESSES. Pants, miniskirts, tight dresses, etc. can not fit the definition of this exacting word. Consult your Vine’s Dictionary for verification of this word definition." First off the author of the article makes the mistake of using the meaning of the old English word "apparel" as weight for his argument. This word chosen to translate a Greek word in the New Testament - we should only be concerned with the meaning of the Greek word as many English words do not perfectly fit the Greek they are trying to translate. The old English definition of apparel may have been a "loose, long flowing garment" but that is more than what the Greek word 'Katastole' means. It is true that the exact Greek word 'Katastole' only appears once in the New Testament but it is based off the Greek word 'Katastello'. 'Katastole' means 'a lowering, letting down' but 'Katastole' from which it is based means 'to send or put down, to lower' or 'to put or keep down one who is roused or incensed, to repress, restrain, appease, quiet'. one guy's opinion fearlessly feminine priceless woman acts eighteen albutrus welcome home unless the Lord tami's note- i am dresses only and so are my girls. | | |
| first off i use up what i have rather than buying new. by doing this i save money instead of spending it. for example yesterday i had chicken, mushroom soup and noodles on the brain for dinner. well guess what - no noodles were to be found! before i scrapped the meal idea i looked and found 2 boxes of rice :) a simple change in the menu saved me a few dollars and we got dinner. running out of dishwashing detergent? use only half as much and add some borax or baking soda for the other half.
i sign up for paid surveys. www.mysurvey.com is a GREAT one. so is www.pineconeresearch.com greenfield is good tho it's not my fav. www.mypoints.com sends me surveys, shopping links(which i don't do but they credit me for looking at the site even when i don't buy!) and now they have a toolbar you can download and get points for surfing the web!!! these add up fast and easy and whne i reach 1000 or so - i'm nearly there and i have never bought anything - i get a $10 cvs gift card. using my cvs extra care bucks with coupons and this gift card i will score tons of stuff for free! i clip coupons, i print coupons, i ask companies for coupons. just write to them and ask! today i will use my colgate coupons and get 10 more tubes totally free!! this will bring my total number of tubes of toothpaste in my "stash" to 21. now i can donate some to charity ! when you use coupons remember to get the best deal possible! i recently had 5 coupons for huggies baby wipes. get $1 off a pack. notice it said a pack- no size mentioned. so i took 5 packs of 99 cent trial size to the register, noted there was no size limit and got all 5 free. :) i use a pack of washcloths as baby wipes instead of buying them each week, just washing them alone in hot water with the cloth diapers so i don't spend money on wipes each week :) if i don't get a household cleaner for free then i use only baking soda and vinegar to clean my house. much cheaper. www.walmart.com has some good deals on cleaners samples a lot. sign up for newsletters to big companies like land of lakes or procter and gamble and they will send coupons from now on, simply cuz you are on the mailing list! use half the amount of sugar you would normally would in your drinks and save there. use storebrands. batteries, diapers, contact cleanser, cotton, shampoo, baby lotion etc, they all work just as well as namebrands- i know, i've used them for years- and you save money! don't sign up for a long distance phone plan. and not all bundles are good deals ( save money and don't get cable) use 1010811 before you dial your phone number. they will charge you for each call you make but there is no monthly fee or time limit etc. the cahrge will show up on your normal phone bill. get a gift card at walmart and use it to buy their gas. you save 3 cents a gallon when you use the card :) now who doesn't need to do that?!!! i am always astounded at what people pay for birthday cakes! why on earth pay someone to bake you a cake? i bake all mine and decorate the top with matchbox cars, candy, marshmellows, small barbies, etc. often , as in the case of the cars and barbies, that is another gift on it's own. get creative! think outside the box! take competitor's ads in when you shop- many stores will honor the prices! then add coupons! check out www.angelfoodministries.com to see if this month's grocery deal is worth it for you. sometimes it is. have a yard sale! sign up for freebies my other blog thriftymama7 has several sites listed that are legit and send great stuff but no spam! enter contests! i have 8 - including a tv!- so far and it's so much fun to win! thrift stores ahve great deals on clothes. and kids' books! so do yard sales. don't be so "above it all" that you miss out on namebrands like new for 25 cents! if you homeschool look for lessons you acn do with all the kids at once to save on curriculum. we do bible, science, art, and history together. math and english are the only 2 subjects where the kids separate. give birthday and christmas gifts the children can share. legos for 1 child and a video for another actually translate into 2 gifts for each lol print photos of your family off the computer, buy a $3 frame at walmart and voila! you have a picture for the living room. i also hang my kids' artwork everywhere, not just the fridge. frame it! think before you buy! for example- i wanted a tablecloth. then i realized that my children do their art projects on the table, schoolwork can't be written well if there is a cloth underneath, and my little ones still drop spaghetti sauce everywhere so i would constantly be removing the cloth for work or washing- why bother to have it?! did you know character underwear is a cool christmas gift? when it has dora on it it seems so much better than plain blue! now they are happy with dora and i bought needed underwear and both are happy with the gift! just a few ideas. share yours! i'll post more when i get a chance :)
| asking our teens to STRIP?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL LIES BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Safety of the HPV vaccineThis vaccine has been licensed by the FDA and approved by CDC as safe and effective. It was studied in thousands of females (ages 9 through 26 years) around the world and its safety continues to be monitored by CDC and the FDA. Studies have found no serious side effects. The most common side effect is soreness in the arm (where the shot is given). There have recently been some reports of fainting in teens after they got the vaccine. For this reason, it is recommended that patients wait in their doctor’s office for 15 minutes after getting the vaccine.

HPV Vaccine Victims Pile Up: $1.5B for Merck
by Barbara Loe Fisher
w ww.vaccineawakening.blogspot.com www.NVIC.org www.Stand UpBeCounted.org
While Merck has pulled in $1.5B from sales of GARDASIL vaccine worldwide, there are continuing reports that girls are being crippled and dying after getting the HPV vaccine fast tracked and licensed by the FDA in 2006. Although the roll-out of GARDASIL with an unparalleled multi-million dollar mass media advertising blitz has created a profitable market for the drug company that took huge losses from Vioxx injury/death lawsuits, the persistent reports of Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) paralysis, arthritis, seizures and sudden loss of consciousness within 24 hours of vaccination continue to haunt the marketing campaign.
Last week Judicial Watch issued a report on more than 8,000 GARDASIL reaction reports to the federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). A search of the VAERS database , which includes reaction reports through April 30, 2008 released to the public by the FDA, reveals nearly 6,700 reports of injury and death after GARDASIL. Two GARDASIL vaccine injury claims recently were filed in the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986.
Exactly two years ago, NVIC sounded the first public warning about GARDASIL risks pointing out that Merck had not adequately proven the vaccine was safe and effective to give to girls under age 16. NVIC pointed out that pre- licensure trials were flawed because they used an aluminum containing placebo that may have masked the true reactivity of GARDASIL, which also contains 225 mcg of aluminum. Like mercury, aluminum can cause inflammation in the body and kill brain cells.
The fact that Merck had only studied the vaccine in fewer than 1200 girls under age 16 and followed them up for less than two years before licensure did not seem to bother doctors working for the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), who saluted Merck smartly and promptly recommended that all 11 year old girls entering sixth grade get three doses.
By the end of 2006, Merck had marshaled its well- paid lobbying forces bolstered by a flashy television advertising campaign in an unprecedented effort to persuade legislators in every state to turn CDC recommendations into law and pass HPV vaccine mandates. Texas Governor Rick Perry went so far as to issue an Executive Order mandating the vaccine for all sixth grade girls.
GARDASIL had only been on the market for a few months and nobody, including Merck, knew the full range of side effects when GARDASIL was given to millions of girls entering puberty. Nevertheless, the pressure was on young girls, their parents and state legislators to trust blindly that the vaccine had no real risks.
In early 2007, NVIC again warned the public that there were significant risks associated with GARDASIL , especially when it was combined with other vaccines. NVIC warned that there was evidence that giving GARDASIL during active HPV infection may increase the risk for cervical cancer while girls were not being tested for active HPV infection before getting vaccinated. NVIC also advised that girls should not drive home after getting the shot because of the risk for sudden loss of consciousness after leaving the doctor's office.
In March 2007, the CDC admitted that there was no scientific evidence that GARDASIL can be safely co- administered with other vaccines (like TDaP, meningococcal, varicella, MMR, influenza). Even so, without a second thought, the CDC urged doctors to assume safety and go ahead and give GARDASIL simultaneously with other vaccines.
By end of May 2007 almost every state had rejected proposed mandates for GARDASIL vaccine and there were more than 2,000 GARDASIL adverse events reported to VAERS. In August 2007, NVIC released a comprehensive analysis of GARDASIL reaction reports to VAERS and a critique of the CDC's universal use recommendation. In a letter, NVIC asked the CDC to warn doctors that the simultaneous administration of Menactra with GARDASIL increases the risk for GBS and other serious adverse event reports.
The CDC chose to blow off NVIC's report and do nothing.
Two years after licensure, it is clear that GARDASIL has plenty of risks for young girls. Among the more than 130 GARDASIL reaction reports that have been filed with NVIC's 26-year old Vaccine Reaction Registry is one that was posted by a mother, who witnessed what happened to her daughter on the International Memorial for Vaccine Victims.
The "its all a coincidence" defense mounted by doctors when something bad happens after vaccination is illogical, unscientific and d another one that sticks in my craw HEPATITIS B DISEASE AND VACCINE FACTS - People at high risk for getting hepatitis B disease (which is transmitted by coming into direct contact with an infected person's body fluids) are IV drug users, prostitutes, prisoners, sexually promiscuous persons and babies born to infected mothers. (1)
- 90-95% of all hepatitis B cases recover completely after 3 to 4 weeks of nausea, fatigue, headache, arthritis, jaundice and tender liver. (2)
- Up to 17 percent of all hepatitis B vaccinations are followed by reports of fatigue and weakness, headache, arthritis and fever of more than 100 F.. (3) The vaccine can cause death, according to a 1994 Institute of Medicine report. (4)
- According to Merck and Company: "The duration of the protective effect of [the vaccine] in healthy vacinees is unknown at present and the need for booster doses is not yet defined."
An historic report in 1994 published by the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, reviewed the medical literature for evidence that vaccines, including hepatitis B vaccine, can cause a variety of immune and neurological health problems. An independent committee of physician experts concluded that there were no case controlled observational studies or controlled clinical trials conducted on hepatitis B vaccine either before or after licensure to scientifically evaluate persistent reports that hepatitis B vaccine can cause sudden infant death syndrome; Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and other central demyelinating diseases including transverse myelitis, optic neuritis, and multiple sclerosis; and immune system dysfunction including chronic arthritis. The IOM report concluded: "The lack of adequate data regarding many of the adverse events under study was of major concern to the committee...the committee encountered many gaps and limitations in knowledge bearing directly or indirectly on the safety of vaccines. These include inadequate understanding of the biologic mechanisms underlying adverse events following natural infection or immunization, insufficient or inconsistent information from case reports and case series, inadequate size or length of follow-up of many population-based epidemiologic studies...." (5) my babies don't have sex or use drug needles! i am not infected. why is this a necessary vaccine? hmmm money? note the same thing in the hep b shot as the gardisil one- we put it out there before we knew what it would do. money again. i tried to get some movies at the library yesterday. they were marked pg-13. they both contained nudity and sexual situations. nudity isn't ok for my 13 yr olds! why is this allowed?! where are the christians standing up and saying NO!! if we continue having movies like this - and you know r rating is worse!- and we keep saying it's ok to have sex at an early age, as demonstrated in the vaccines we give, and we promote websites and "contests" like the one listed above then why are we shocked at teen pregnancy or the depravity we see everyday in this world?! why are we as christians not standing up and saying no?! how worldly we have become. sex before marriage is accepted as ok and yet God said it wasn't. our bodies are beautiful but they are reserved for our spouses, not 10 feet tall movie screens. if i am not allowed to walk to the mailbox naked then why is demi moore allowed to be in the movies naked? did you know in the 20's they made it legal for actresses to be nude in the movies, that a special law was enacted, that you and i don't get to access ( not that i would want to!) and then we come up with vaccines and such to excuse our ungodly behavior. taht's the world for ya. are you gonna stand up or follow the crowd?
