howdy peoples,
...life continues on unabated in sleepy village. which isn't really a real suburb of dallas but i don't like saying exactly where i am located here in the metroplex. lets just say that it's not on the bus lines and they don't sell beer in the stores here. that should paint a picture, and one of few trees at that. it's fairly m0dernized. it's what i call a glorified strip mall. there are neighborhoods, parks and that sort of thing- but all desperately projecting a sense of obstinate second rateness, as if that were just the way things should be.
me, i like the awesome little lake towns not too far from here. if i was going to stay somewhere outside the metroplex, rockwall and rowlet both seem pretty ok by my incredibly picky standards. slightly arrogant, but not nearly so as the lakes that i'm familiar with. the people were good looking but not impossibly so, with plenty of local cedar chopper types for variation from the rich folk... both seem decidedly more real than sleepy village....
but lacking that certain bohemian feel that you get under the stars of lake travis.
i'm a hippy at heart, i guess.
which is good. i always had a special feeling for dallas, but living here in the outlands of the metroplex just doesn't do it for me.
that's why i know i'll be coming home to austin as soon as we are done taking care of business here.
baby finishes school this year. i'm back to pulling cables. the carwash was just too hot.
i'm getting too old to party much these days. my beer drinking abilities are at an embarrassingly all time low. and i am far, far overfond of sleep.

it kills me to hear you doubt the vision in the mirror,
i wish i could change what you see;
