| Well, I finally got my counter working (see bottom). I like how it currently says "1 visitor since June 10th"... that's pretty sad, huh? haha, well, I just couldn't figure out how to get the bloody thing to work... but now that it is, that number should go up... to the big 2 baby!
Anyways, today I decided to ditch work, which in retrospect was not a very good decision, especially considering I now have a crap-load of work to do before I go to sleep... but on the "upside" (as per the NBA draft guys who said that word about a billion times last night) my boss treated our lab to dinner at a Japanese restraunt... I, of course, opted for the sushi instead of the hibachi... and in the end I think I ended up with just as much food from the hibachi as everyone else who actually ordered it, weird huh? I think it pays off to be the only asian dood who's actually in awe of all the craziness that the those hibachi chefs can pull (c'mon, the dood pulled a tiger woods move with an egg and a spatula... I had to give him mad props). Plus I guess it didn't hurt that I had a sense of humor and actually laughed at all the corny jokes while everyone else sat there like lumps... dah well. More food for me ^_^
Meanwhile, I realized today that I'm starting to miss certain people more than I'd like to admit... August needs to come and it needs to come soon dang it, haha... okie, now time to do the work I was supposed to do at work... laterz!
| Once again, so much to say, and yet I'm too lazy to say it all, so I'll just list out some thoughts:
1) The Knicks are dumb... getting rid of Camby and Hilario (and Mark Jackson, but nobody cares bout him cuz he's old and useless) for Frank Williams and Antonio McDyess?? The only saving grace for the Knicks is that they should still be able to beat scrub teams (I predict the Bucks sweeping the Knicks next season )
2) My job gets more and more boring everyday... I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to be able to do it during the year...
3) I thought about this today as I was sitting there changing the media for my cells in lab... why are lifeguards called lifeguards and "doc"tors called doctors? Aren't doctors the ones that protect people from dying, while lifeguards actually look over docks and bodies of water? So really, doctors should be called lifeguards, and lifeguards should be called dock guards... just a thought...
4) Final thought: This comes from a conversation that I had with Alan, which for some reason just popped back into my head (we are both, btw, absolute geniuses):
Me: You know, you should really put a door here (pointing to the garage). That way, you wouldn't have to open the garage door and close it again while running under just to make it outside.
Alan: But there's not place to put it.
Me: Hmm... hey, maybe you could make a door in the garage door.
Alan: Urrr?
Me: You know, it'd kinda be like a doggy door.
Alan: Oh yeah... except it'd be for humans, so it'd be a human door.
Me: Wait, isn't that just a regular door?
And then, a contemplative "Ah..." followed a small pause of confusion... ^_^
| Wow... I finally have time to update this thing, haha. Well, the dream is over... I guess Korea going from not winning a World Cup game ever to World Cup Champions was a little too much to ask for. But it's all good... Korea still has a shot at 3rd, which is definitely not too shabby... and the way this team played was absolutely amazing over the past few weeks... as cliched as it is I definitely felt some Korean pride (and American pride) during this World Cup, and I'm it's really amazing when you consider how unified the country was because of this team...
Ok, that's enough about World Cup for now... I'll finally talk about something else... but still sports related ^_^ The NBA Draft is tomorrow, and while I normally don't follow the NBA that closely, since my Bucks didn't freakin' make the playoffs this year (you'd think with all the talent they'd be able to cooperate and pull it together... and yet... blah). If u're not following the draft, then I'll sum it up like this: other than Yao Ming, Jay Williams, Mike Dunleavy, and arguably Drew Gooden, the other picks wide open. So at 13, the Bucks still have a shot at getting a legitimate big man (which they need badly, cuz Anthony Mason is literally just a big piece of meat that sits there in the paint and does jack). I'm praying like crazy that we get that Brazilian dude Nene Hilario... he may be Mason-like in stature (he's like 6'9", 240 some pounds), but he actually has skills... someone like that would really help, considering the Bucks inside game, I hate to admit it, is lacking... for ma boyz who join me in lottery woes (Charles and Luke, respectively), Jay Williams is solid for Chicago, tho no matter what they're gonna suck donkey balls again (on the plus side of that tho is the fact that you can get LeBron James next year... who can only be described as freakin' amazing), and as for the Knicks... you know you're gonna pick Chris Wilcox, and you also know that he's not the man who's gonna make a difference (ie Camby better stay injury-free or be traded). So that's that... I'm actually pretty excited to see what happens tomorrow (and the ghetto fabulous suits that all the doods are gonna come out in)
One final random thing... I found a whole buncha Foo Fighters acoustic versions on Kazaa the other day... let me just say that anyone who has not heard of the Foo Fighters or Dave Grohl are MISSING OUT!!! Check 'em out at www.foofighters.com I'm telling you... Dave Grohl is a musical genius, and Nate Mendel is just hilarious when he plays the bass (his heads goin all over the place... looks like it'll fall off at any moment ^__^) I dunno what it is about these guys, but their music is just amazing...
Ok, now it's time to be a dork and recopy stuff into my lab book for tomorrow so my boss doesn't think I'm some sorta bum, haha.
| Too much to say... not enough time... so I'm gonna mention the one big thing that's going to be happening in less than 4 hours: ENGLAND vs. BRAZIL!!! Why they made the brackets so that this is not a final... i don't know... what I do know is that there is just so much talent on both of these teams that this could easily be one of those classic games that gets replayed over and over for years to come... I'd suggest you watch ^__^
Oh, and at the beseeching of my friend Michelle, I have taken the picture of Dale down and have put up a picture of the man who every Korean (and Italian, puhahaha!!) recognizes by now... u should see his wife... she's pretty cute, haha...
| Korea 2- Italy 1... It sounds cheesy, but when I'm an old man sitting in my BMW hovercraft (haha, yeah right) with my equally old wife (again, yeah right, haha)... I'm going to remember this game... I'll remember Seol's amazing 88th minute goal... I'll remember the sketchy Ecuadorian ref... I'll remember when the Italian coach took out Del Piero, I'll remember when Vieri had the chance to put the game away... I'll remember the miracle header in the second overtime put in by the man who's probably the pimp of korea right now Ahn Jung Hwan... I'll remember watching as 10s of thousands of crazy korean fans all dressed in red chanted "DAE HAN MIN GOOK" in unison... I'll remember how I was screamin' like crazy afterwords and cruisin' down 141 at over 100 mph waving a korean flag and calling everyone... and I'll have the biggest smile on my face... I've never seen a team play with so much heart in my life... no matter what happens, this has been a team of miracles and destiny... it just goes to show you... in soccer and in life, you can't live a dream without first dreaming...
JJAK JJAK, JJAK JJAK, JJAK DAE HAN MIN GOOK!!!!
