| | a selection of haikus composed on a 9 hour drive from west farmington, ohio to charlotte, north carolina
amish youths walk by blue shirts with open collars, smoking cigarettes
the motorcyclist slowly waves his left hand - his wife leans in close
he eyes his mirrors - i must be drifting too close on this country road
two hundred twenty miles on interstate seventy seven - two hundred fifty five left
the sandwich you made filled my head and warmed my toes - that was three hours ago
xenophobia - not trusting others is what keeps a nation strong
i have developed a small obsession with the amish. i told kari that if she ever died unexpectedly i would quit my job and become amish. which was maybe not the most romantic statement i've ever made.
happy belated fourth!
