Professors......grrrrrrSo for those of you who didn't know I had mono. About a week or two weeks ago I went up to my one of my professors and asked if my absances were going to count agaist me. He goes, Oh yes I see your delemia. Basically the short of it all he said that justice needed to be done because it basically wasn't fair to the students that were here while I was gone (mind you I wasn't going to baseball games or skipping because I felt like it). He said that I was to come up with a project that could replace my absances. He didn't give me a time frame or any idea as to what he was thinking for this project. So today I emailed him with an idea that I have to admit was pretty easy on my part. However it was the only thing that I had thought of. The class is all about ethics and so I posed to him to let me ask the class if it would be ok if I had my absances excused because this would then put it back into the hands of those that had the "injustice" done to them and then they would have to morally decide what to do. Now I knew that this was probably a long shot but I decided it was all I had. So I got this email back today saying..... That will not suffice, Amber. We need to talk together about this. I had assumed you were not going to pursue this. He goes on to say that he would be willing to help me work through this but I would need to come to his office.
So here is my email back to him.....Deanya made me revise it three times because of the attitude it put off. But seriously I thought this was the most rediculous thing. 1st draft........emotions are heated....
I guess I would first like to know if I have more then three absances. If so I would like to work through this project because I think it would be silly for me to be marked down a grade level or two, maybe even fail, because I was unable to get out of bed. Let me know when a good time would be for you. Tomorrow I will be teaching all day from 9:30-3:30. I don't know if you could meet at 4 tomorrow but I guess let me know if that works. Wednesday I have class from 11-12, 1-2, and your class from 2-3. Also I was wondering why I don't have a grade in for my lecture exam? That is the one that I made up from when I was sick. Thank you,

Amber Edwards I think it still shows some attitude when I say "I would first like to know" right off the bat. But oh well, maybe he will get the hint that he is the only one punishing me for being sick!!!!!!!! Ridiculous....(I don't even know if I spelled that right but I don't care) This professor is a very learned man....however I think he has a lot to learn about teaching....and not just because of this.....however maybe I'm just taking anger out....this is silly..... |
