I finished my DL Research and Writing course from PHC, although the final grade isn't in yet. This summer my course is Music History and appreciation, and I think has some theory as well...

Not much happening, I'm working usually four days now and on Fridays from 11:00-8:30 p.m.--things are getting busier.

Has anyone seen the movie The Great Raid? It's really good--about a WWII raid on a Cabanatuan prison camp by army rangers to save POWs. I found two books on it--The Ghost Soldiers, and one with the same title The Great Raid. They look interesting...

Hello Rebecca! THis is Priscilla S. from the SDF--very nice to meet you! Xanga's a wonderful way to keep in touch once we no longer in DL lose access to ANGEL.

Hi Rebecca, this is Erin from Music History.  I'd say nice to meet you, but Cilla beat me to the punch, so I'll just say "Hi."

Hehe, Erin  (yes, most people in DL call me Cilla, btw).

What do I like reading?  Mostly biographies, especially of missionaries.  People like Eric Liddell and Corrie Ten Boom have long been my favorite subjects.  So if I'm reading just for fun on my own, those are my choices.  But I do enjoy almost anything I read in lit class--Homer, Faust, Dante, etc, and philosophical books always interest me, especially Blaise Pascal.  My favorite book is Blue Denim and Lace, by Jack Hyles.

What about you--do you have a favorite genre, book, or author?

And btw, where do you work Rebecca?  It sounds like you've got yourself a busy summer.  Are you in high school, or have you graduated?

Oh, that's awesome. Congrats on graduating. Are you a freshman with PHC DL, or what?
Your job actually sounds like fun-sounds like a quaint little store. Yes, I have worked for my dad for the past year, as a legal assistant. He's a patent attorney, so it isn't as exciting as it sounds, but mostly I file paperwork, contact clients, and keep track of important dates and deadlines. Not a bad job at all.

Ooh, I took a Music History course. It was like drinking from a fire hydrant, but that was just a one day a week course with Chrickee's harp teacher.
I had fun playing in the sandbox with you. LOL!!! :D
We should have a movie night some night. You have some really cool sounding movies that I want to see. :D

P.S. That Jeremiah verse is one of my favorites. I always go back to it when I feel like nobody loves me. :D

Hey, have you heard of the book Lone Survivor? It's about the lone survivor of a Navy Seals team that went down in Afghanistan. I haven't read it yet...I'm #28 on the library waiting list...:D It's about how these Afghin villagers hid him for months until a team could come in and rescue him...sounds really cool. :D
