My weekend arrived. I was ready for it. After a wonderfully normal 5 day work week at 10 hours a day (not including the time spent driving to and from work, as well as ensuring having properly cleaned and working tools and paperwork issues cleared up) I was entirely prepared to enjoy three days of nothingness. No serious books, no philosphy or theology, no thinking, just sleeping and being lazy.
I wish.
I spent monday sleeping as expected. Monday night/tuesday morning, one of my co workers came over during his lunch break to take a look at my van. He and his wife were out driving saturday and they got into an accident which totalled their vehicle. Fortunately I had something they can use. A blessing to me from some very nice folks down in Longview has now become a blessing to one of my co-workers in his need. Tuesday morning I intended to get my prescription safety glasses, yet when I arrived at the designated optomologists office, the door alerted me that they were not open until 9:30 am. I really didnt feel like driving home, so I drove a mile to the Barnes and Noble. It was closed until 10. The Cafe nearby was closed as well (closed until further notice: posted on April 16th) I did not want to wait at starbucks, so I just took a nap in my car outside the office. 9:30 I walk in and spend half an hour haggling over prescription safety glasses. In the end I walk out with a promise for them to arrive within 10 business days, but I had to pay a $25 distrobution fee. The company and insurance covered the rest (the company requires them now.) I wont look fashionable, but at least Ill be able to see at work. Then again, when have I ever looked fashionable? (For those who have not met me, I am not really that big into looks and what people think of me...if you havnt noticed)
I went to the library (which opens at 10) and got a few books out. I arrived home and realized that the book that I intended to read I had left in my toolbox at work. Oh well. Ill just read something else.
Tuesday night/Wednesday morning I listened to IndieAirplay.com. I am interested in groups such as "the Attic," "Tonic Sol-Fa," and "Killarney Star." I read "Patriot Games"
Tonight I intend to go to a wednesday night praise meeting. I go back to work thursday.
Some thoughts need to be refined before they are typed out for the internet to see. Some thoughts need to be tossed out. Someday.
