yes I've seen the movie and lemme just say I'm pleased with it. And let me just also say that no matter whether you were almost up for 24 hours the previous day, if there's something you've already put your mind and heart into, you can wake up and feel normal no matter how much you slept or whether that sleep messed your sleeping cycle so badly. Other than that, below might contain some spoilers, so yeah go on with that in mind. OH btw, no need to stay after the credits because there's nothing. Props to the guy working on the theater for letting us stay even though they have to clean up for the next showing.
So yeah. Honestly I think Heath's portrayal of the Joker was definitely some scary ass shit, but not that much. I mean I was expecting a more fucked up Joker persona but what I saw was pretty damn good. Seriously it would be someone I would not want to meet in person, ever. The cinema we saw it on only got 6 people on our showing, but I guess a crap load of others went early just to buy tickets for the later showings, which solidifies my theory that if we waited for Friday or Saturday night to see it, chances are slim. This is a hella good movie, and I'm pretty sure it's gonna break so many records. And it's hella long as well, marked by the agonizing hour or so I had to go through cause I was holding my bladder but definitely didn't want to miss a second of it. It would be interesting to see if a third movie from the Nolan era would be made cause of the ending. My only objection is the surprising demise of Dent, cause come on now, he would make an awesome villain for later movies. And to see that the death was so simple? Come on now, give us something better to see him go. Well I didn't expect to see his role as you-know-who so much in this movie cause I initially thought it was gonna be like the end of the first movie, just a teaser for the next one, preferably by showing his final face. But alas it didn't happen, his role was way more in the movie, and well he died. Sucks. Props to Cillian Murphy for reprising his role as Scarecrow even though he's only on for 10 minutes or so (at first I doubted that was him, but the credit roll confirms it).
Does Ledger deserves an Oscar? Honestly I don't know, but to give it to him cause he passed away would be wrong. It's nice to see all the comparison of the Joker and Batman character, with the former stating in the film that it looks like they're gonna be facing each other forever, and the fact that they can't kill each other because of their own fucked up reasons, and of course because one seems to exist because of the other. That's why it's so ironic that Heath passed away. Farewell, you did a superb job portraying him. You will be missed.
Huh, seeing that the movie ended that way, could it be that a third movie will be based on the Manhunt arc from the comics? We'll just have to wait I guess.
And yes there weren't any Watchmen exclusive trailer before the movie cause this is Indonesia. That sucks.
Thank goodness I didn't wear any of the Joker shirts that I mentioned before cause all I saw was little nerd kids who wore them to the movie.
well I guess I've found a new alarm that would ensure me waking up, though it still won't make sure that I stay up haha. My iPod, what else? With cheap ass (free actually from Fry's Black Fridays 2 years ago) mini speakers right by my bed and nonstop music for tens of minutes, there's just no way that I don't wake up. I woke up earlier today with songs from Beyonce and other non hardcore stuff, so imagine if I do set an "alarm playlist" consisting of Slipknot, Wolfmother, and other bands that my mom won't even feel like listening to? Awesome.
So I'm a bit disappointed that by this time I'm still not holding my ticket to see The Dark Knight. Yes I'm still not sure 100% whether it's out tomorrow, and the girl who worked on the theater wasn't any help at all about that info, only saying that just come back tomorrow and we'll see from there. But hot damn we're definitely seeing one of the earliest ones in the city if it does come out come tomorrow. Yeah our movie scheduling system here sucks balls cause you can't look into a few days ahead. Update: It is coming out tomorrow. Newspaper and website confirmed. Booya.
So what's the deal with man purses? I just got one as a gift and of course I'm not gonna talk bad about it in front of the one who gave it to me right? Look I don't really mind the bigger ones, the messenger bag ones, the ones that can put a decent size laptop inside instead of the mini laptops. It's ones like this. WTF. I was just commented yesterday by the doctor about how I'm holding a lot of stuff on my hands (car keys, cellphone, wallet, and PSP) cause I wasn't wearing any pants with pockets. And yes I would rather hold it all in my hand than to use one of them to put them all. Seriously. Man. Purse. That just don't go together son.
I dunno why but mashups with children TV shows don't got shit unless it's Bert and Ernie. Just look at it, it mashes up so well, probably cause they're real instead of animated. Did I post the others I've found so far? The SuperBad one (video suspended, blurg), the death metal one, all of em are awesome. Or to be precise, Bert and Ernie are awesome. Fo' shizzle.
People who are web-savvy, answer me this. I need to know whether there's a free web application that is similar to micro-blogging but can be publicly viewed. This would be for my offline fantasy draft, and this particular application will be useful for people who are joining us online (so a number of people will gather together while the ones who can't make it will join by phone / msn / whatever). So this application would be helpful for those who are online to see the results. My idea is to have a public page that doesn't need registration to see, and I will be updating it live while the draft goes on. I don't want anyone to be able to comment on it (hence me not wanting to use a group chat room cause someone would definitely interrupt with some trash talking. I wanna make it separate) so the end result of this feed would be neat and easy to read. The second thing I'd like to have is a chat like input system. With regular blogs you're gonna have to go into a "post entry" page that will take you to a separate page and returns you to the post. I want something easier to handle like a chat window that will update it instantaneously without me having to change pages, and the public view would refresh automatically hopefully.
In summary this is what I need:
A live feed system that can be publicly viewed without anybody having to register.
No comment system but this is usually in the settings.
A chat window like input system so I don't have to switch pages every time. I'm guessing something Ajaxy.
Nothing fancy like talk bubbles or whatever. Just keep it as neat as possible.
So does this sound more like micro blogging? I've never used Twitter or Pownce or anything, so if anybody knows anything that suits what I need or have used any of the micro blogging sites that will satisfy most of it, let me know. Or maybe I should just create my own and share it with fantasy sports people, and put some ads haha. Anyhoo, I appreciate it .
You knew I would get a hold of the book asap after the movie right? Well you can get it here, and I suggest you read it cause Mark Millar is just one psycho Scottish chap. After seeing the movie I would say the origin part of the story looked way better in the movies, but then again it's just the origin so the meat of the story hasn't even reached its good part. The rest of it? Completely insane and awesome at the same time. The comic book is of course more gritty and psychotic, definitely not for the faint hearted. It's just too bad that I've already read the summary on Wikipedia before reading it. I'm not gonna spoil anything here, it's just too good not to read. And after reading it, well I gotta say the comic version and the movie version are not that similar haha. Nevertheless, both are great pieces of art, and you should get a hold of them ASAP. Booya.
Word on the street is that there's a new club on FX, the newest mall in town, that doesn't allow smoking and alcohol. WTF. I actually appreciate the non smoking rule, being a non smoker myself though I highly suspect that I'm a heavy second hand smoker , but the non alcohol? Come on now. Well maybe it promotes people to get shitfaced before entering the place, which means you should get drunk on cheaper booze cause of the high prices they charge on those places. I dunno. Initial reaction? LAME. In three months or so? FAIL.
If you still don't get that Get Smart joke, or the whole Chuck Norris thing, this video sums it all and you should now know why Chuck Norris with a BB gun would pwn you mercilessly. Booya indeed.
After some searching, at least I'm not gonna apply to only UIUC this coming fall. Carnegie Mellon will also get my application for their Master of Information System Management program. I saw some as well for Washington, Arizona, and Texas but they're either 18 month programs (too long) or executive programs (only evening / weekend classes). I ain't got all day son. Yeah I know, no great football team (division III, nuff said), but heck whatever *sobbing inside*. There's actually a Masters in Management Technology in Arizona State but honestly I think it's pointing in a complete different direction, and there's not even sufficient info on the page. Would've been fun to root for Erickson and the Sun Devils though. But nevertheless HOT DAMN graduate school is hella expensive!!!!!!!!!
