What's wrong with being racist?

So apparently the subject has been rehashed here on xanga. I thought I'd put my two cents in...

There is NOTHING wrong with being racist.

It is a perfectly acceptable form of expression to dislike people with a passion just because of one of their innate traits. Should someone happen to act on those prejudices, and someone else come into harm as a result, that's just a fact of life.

There is absolutely no difference between disliking people for their personalities and disliking them for their skin color or heritage.

When Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream: "... that [his] four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character," it was only a dream.
It's just an ideal because realistically I shouldn't have to spend any second of my time to understand other people beyond their demographic. That's not my duty as a member of society - it's not at the heart of what keeps people civil.

Right?

Paper or Plastic?

Okay, I'm not really sure what this question is supposed to be referring to.

-Is it the type of bag you want the bagger at a grocery store to use?

-Is it the payment method you're going to use (cash or a credit card).

-Maybe it's just a more abstract question, like which do you think is better. Maybe then you'd have to factor in each material's environmental friendliness. This by itself would have to take into consideration a slew of other factors - how much of it can be recycled, at what cost (monetary and resource-wise) is it produced, are the resources used in making it plentiful and/or renewable? Apart from the environmental aspect of it, what are the pros and cons of each material. What is each better suited for? What kind of plastic are we talking about anyway?

.... oops. this is what goes on in my head at any given moment, though the topic is usually even more mundane or silly.

I just answered this Featured Question, you really shouldn't bother.

Sorry if I don't post anything. I'd much rather spend my time getting quality entertainment (special thanks to any and all of the blogs that I frequent), than try to half-heartedly write about something I'm not even interested in myself.

One thing I'd like to see more of: Toilet humor.

Church of Ketchup.
