| Mario Williams.......are you serious Texans? | | |
| The NFL draft is not until the end of April, but the draft news is stronger than ever. The main question is who will the Texans pick with the number one pick overall. Will they pick Reggie Bush or home town hero Vince Young. Well, here is my take on the whole matter. If you look at the Texans organization right now, we really do not need Reggie or Vince. We have three good running backs and a good quarterback. If the Texans play there cards right, they would truly trade the pick down and draft D’Brickashaw Ferguson, a great offensive lineman out of Virginia. Thats where they need the most help at. And if they do this, they will get a ton of other picks throughout this draft and next years draft. But I truly believe they will not do that. But here is the best thing that could possibly happen. New Orleans, who has the second pick overall, is in desperate need of a quarterback after the whole Aaron Brooks situation. So, what the Texans should do is talk to them about a possible trade of David Carr for that pick. If they go through, and the Texans end up with the number one and two pick overall, everything is solved. Draft Vince number one to make everyone happy, and then draft Reggie number two. Now I know this will be a lot of money being such high picks, but here is the solution. To get more money to pay these guys, cut all of the offensive lineman's pay to the league's minimum salary, and tell them that if they do there job, than they will get pay raises. That will give the organization a bunch of money to pay these two stars. But now back into reality, I truly do not believe that this will happen. But in the end, it is tough for me to say this, but the Texans need to keep the number one pick and draft Reggie Bush. This is tough for me to say, considering how much I hate USC and how big of a Vince Young fan I am. But looking at the state the Texans are in, Reggie is the best thing they could get. But if I was Kubiak, do not keep Reggie Bush as a running back. As I previously stated, we have three good running backs and a fourth is not what we need. Instead, put Reggie Bush as a slot receiver. Imagine a Brandon Stokley but with a whole bunch more speed. And then that would take all of the attention off of Andre Johnson and free him up for more big plays. I would love to see Vince Young put on a Texans jersey next year, but David Carr is one hell of a quarterback, but has never been able to show his whole potential with no offensive line. So in the end, when draft day rolls around, the Commissioner needs to come out and say, "With the number one pick in the 2006 draft, the Houston Texans select, Reggie Bush, running back, USC." | | |
| Great first day of classes. Had to work the desk from 6-8 this morning. Slept after that for a little bit. Ate some food and then headed to my first class. Child Development Psychology. This class seems like its going to be really interesting. But the best part is the ration of the men to women. There is about 75 people in the class, and 6 of us are guys. Great stuff. I was only in that class for about 15 minutes so I headed to the book store. Bought two book for a grand total of $182 and some change. One book alone was $112 before tax. After that, Michelle and I came back to my room to wait for our class to start. Teaching Young Kids. This class is even better. Out of 100 people, 2, yes I said 2 of us are guys. Great odds if you happen to be one of the guys, which I am. But this class is going to be very beneficial for me. The only thing I do not like is that the course is three hours long. And the teacher went all three hours today. Hopefully that wont happen again. Well, thats all for right now. Another day of new classes await me tomorrow. | | |
| Long time since my last post, so here is an over veiw of whats gone on:
-Finished up the fall semester
-Sister graduated college
-Watched the Cougar football team get whooped in the Fort Worth Bowl
-Christmas came and went, nothing to eventful there
-Played some baseball with the guys
-Went to New Orleanes and drove around some of the worst parts of town and it is truly sad the amount of damage and the think of what these people are going through
-New Years came, party was fun till some cat fights broke out and had to break them up
-Watched UT beat USC for the National Title (and shut up all the media about how great this USC team was)

Im excited that I got an RA job because I know have my own room (that is free), but I did have to leave pretty sudden and didnt get to say bye to all of my friends back home. But oh well, I'll see them again someday. Well thats all for now. Till next time. | | |
