33 Weeks Along and Counting Down Really getting excited that our due date is almost up. Since I haven't written in a really long time I will try to fill you in on what has happened so far. For the pregnancy, we decided to have a home birth and we also are encouraging people to watch the documentary by Ricki Lake called "The Business of Being Born". It is really amazing. We had already planned on having a home birth but this documentary was really informative about midwives vs the hospitals. Now let me tell you about the kids. Samantha has had a tricycle since last christmas but was unable to ride it because her legs were to short even though it was made for 3 year olds. Well, she is now 4 1/2 years old and can finally ride her bike. Jeremiah cleaned out our garage and made it into a place we can sit outside while Samantha is riding her tricycle. Athanasius likes to help Samantha on her tricycle by either pushing her from behind or in front of her. If he is not doing that then he is dragging a stick behind him in the driveway. He has been having a lot of fun. His first official word was Mama, second Nana, and third Papa. I think he finally associated his third word today. I think that is all about the kids for now. I do have one more thing to tell you and it is about me. In my whole entire life I have never experienced a broken bone, stitches, or major sugeries. Yesterday, I visited the ER because while I was washing dishes, one of the glasses broke and I cut myself. I cut it just above the thumb's knuckle (the one you can't crack) to the middle of the thumb and first finger. Luckily, the cut slants down and doesn't go into the crease. Well, it took 3 1/2 hours to get my stitches in even though the stitches only took about 10 minutes. They were really backed up. So, I have 6 stitches and feel handicaped. I don't like putting any pressure on my thumb since it hurts when I do so. I really hate changing diapers right now and hope it goes by fast. Plus it is on my right hand and I do everything right handed which makes things even more complicated. Oh and if anyone else is having problems with fleas try the "Ortho Indoor Insect fogger". We watched my mother-in-laws dog and we think he brought in the fleas or it might have been the cat that we use to have (she ran away from home). We have already bombed our house once with Sergeant's gold fogger and that didn't work so we have to bomb it again with the Ortho. I actually called the 800 number about their product because usually you have to do a lot of cleaning when the fogger is done. They say that it is safe around the kids and you really don't have to do anything when it is done. I did however cover our kitchen counter and the kids toys. I'll let you know if we see anymore fleas but I haven't so far. We were able to come back into the house around 8pm today so it hasn't been long. Wrote too long and gotta go to bed. |
