  • July Update

    Hi everybody!

July has just been flying past and I don't know where the time went! I started my home visits today. (For those of you who may not know, all the homeroom teachers at my school go to visit all the families during the summer.  It helps us promote better relationships between the parents and teachers and also gives the parents a chance to ask questions and whatnot. Plus, what kid doesn't get excited when they see the supply list for a new school year?) I've scheduled half of my visits, but there were some families I had to leave messages with, so if nobody calls me back tonight, I'll be calling them again tomorrow.

My big July trip is so close! Early Monday morning I'm flying off to San Diego! I'm super excited to meet up with my friends again and go to one of (if not the) hugest comic conventions. Dean Koontz is scheduled to be there, but his little Q&A session is on Saturday, which is the day I'm flying home.  I'm super excited to go to the Doctor Who and Torchwood panels, which some of the actors will be doing.  My roommate is super jealous I get to see Captain Jack, Ianto, Owen and Tosh from one of our favorite shows!  I also plan on stopping to see Jeph Jacques (who draws and writes Questionable Content. I'm also stopping by the Penny Arcade, Dr. McNinja and White Ninja Comics places for various people. Thankfully, three out of those four I listed are all going to be at the same table. ;) I'm sure there will be so much to see!

The rest of the summer will be filled with seeing people (as I've been doing the last couple months), finishing getting ready for school, and other whosits and whatnots that I need to get finished.  Then, it's actually back to a daily routine.  Who thought someone would miss that? :)

  • Thoughts for a Lazy Saturday

Here I am, sitting at my computer, knowing what I should be doing with my day and not entirely feeling the motivation to get there. I got home from my midwest tour last Wednesday.  I started out in Green Bay, then headed to my parents' house, and then I was in Sioux Falls as we celebrated the wedding of Tony's sister Emily. It was a very beautiful Christian wedding. I think my favorite part of the ceremony was that Adam (the groom) prayed in front of the guests for Emily. He thanked and praised God for bringing her into his life and asked that their marriage be blessed. I was pretty tearful that day! On the left is a picture of Tony and me; he was an usher.

On my trip back to Wisconsin, I took the opportunity to visit Aaron, Diana and the little peanut, Eli! He's getting so big! He's three months old now, and is such a joy!

Now I'm back home, waiting for another friend to come over and we're heading to see the Polyphonic Spree at Summerfest Sunday night. It should definitely be an experience. I believe that will be all for this update, and I'll see you all again later!

Let me know if you're not able to see the pictures; I was working on importing them from a diferent site.

  • Yay!

My sister made Prep Singers!!! Yay!

In non-related news, I have a lot of research papers to read yet.  Boo.  I've been up till 11 or 12 every night this week reading and grading.

Tonight I need to get the majority done because I have to go to commencement concert tomorrow, and Tony is visiting for the weekend.

    *sigh*

I will have no life until May 30.
