| Well my freshman year at northwestern is over and now i'm back home,
currently The Woodlands (Houston), TX, where i'll be spending the next
three months chilling. Hopefully I'll get a job, if someone is willing
to hire me, have to go job hunting.
So I'm officially a sophmore, I still can't believe
that the year passed so fast, especially spring quarter, wow.
Academically the school was pretty tough, and my performance has been
underwhelming, kinda like the pistons in the first two games of the
finals. Game 3 is tonight, starting soon, but it is raining and the
satellite isn't getting any reception. Socially I had lots of fun at
NU, i've made great friends who i'll be living with next year, i've
always been busy and doing something or the other, watching movies,
eating out, playing videogames or basketball. I guess next year
i'll really have to focus on my studies and try to bring up my GPA, but
those are worries for the future.
Now here is another issue of confusion for me, what
is home, i know those of you from dubai always had to deal with the
question where are you from with a ten minute explanation, back in the
states the answers are much simpler, i'm from _____, and i've lived
there my whole life. So seriously where is home?
Is it where you were born, where your parents grew up, your extended family is (Karachi, 1 year)?
Is it where you grew up, where your sister was born,
where you spent the majority of your life, where your friends are
(Dubai, 14 years)?
Is it where you own a house and your brother was born (Chicago, 4 years)?
Is it where your family is now (Houston, 1 year)?
Or is it where you've spent the last year, and the next three at university (Evanston, 1 year)?
Anyways, we tried to barbeque today, on our new gas
grill, we got burgers, and hot dogs, and buns, and all that junk, we
lit the grill, cooked some corn a couple burgers, then we started to
hear some thunder and lightning, but we cooked a little longer, then we
heard more thunder and lightning, so we brought all the stuff inside
and moved the grill, and it started pouring. What luck, but what we had
cooked was really good.
Finally I've gotten a little tired of watching
movies and playing PS2, so I wanted to start reading something, so do
you guys have any recomendations? I'll probably go to the library this
week and pick something up but I don't know what to read, recently i've
read The Life of Pi, Angels and Demons, Sahara, Da Vinci Code, and some
of my favorite books are the LOTR Trilogy, The Things They Carried and
Brave New World. So i need some new reading material while I wait for
the new Harry Potter, so please give me some suggestions.

| Well i've basically finished all of my classes, except for the three
remaining edc classes and my two finals and edc presentation. I can't
wait for the summer and to go home. Last weekend was busy, we went to
thai night on friday night, it was fun, saturday we saw Star Wars
episode III, it was sweet, the action adn special effects were awesome,
teh dialogue and acting was shit, especially the guy who plays anakin,
but it was lots of fun . Then on sunday we went to the beach and played
volleyball it was fun, too bad we only have a couple weeks left to
really enjoy the weather, oh well. The best case scenario would be to
be here and chill without having to worry about classes, that would be
fun. well i'll just keep on dreaming, it's more fun than reality

| Well it's been a long time since my last entry, since then the bulls
went on to lose the series against the wizards, 4-2, but they were
swept by the heat. The rockets also managed to blow a 2-0 lead and lose
to the mavs in 7. Playoff bball has been keeping me pretty busy since
there has been a game on every night except last monday night. Which
was nice b/c i had to write my formal lab report for chem.
This is the home stretch, another 20 days before I
go home for the summer, it's kinda late compared to other schools that
finish in the beginning of may, but we don't start again until mid
september. I booked my tickets the other day and got jobbed, b/c i had
checked on orbitz and tickets were from 230-345, the next day they had
gone up to 280-350, so i thought i'd better get my ticket before the
prices go up even more. Well now the ticket prices have gone back down
to 230, it's freakin retarded.
Anyways the last couple weeks haven't been very
eventful, everyone has been getting sick, including me, and it's just
not going away. Midterms have been tough, but i have one left then
finals so that isn't too bad. Star Wars Episdoe III is coming out today
or tomorrow, it looks good, i'll probably go see it next weekend, i
can't wait. Otherwise things have been going on, the weather has been
pretty nice so we've been playing cricket whenever we are free.
Also E3 finished and they first showed the new
systems, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolutions, they all look sweet,
especially the PS3:

Xbox 360:

Nintendo Revolution:

The new season of Family Guy has started and the show is still
absolutely hilarious, but the new simpsons aren't as good as they used
to be. House is also amazing, the season finale is coming up this week,
but I really enjoyed last week's episode, you learnt about what
happened to House and why he is the way that he is.
I think that's enough for today, or now at least, the cubs aren't doing
very well, they are behind the brewers and that's very embarassing,
hopefully things will turn around for them, hopefully.
