Perhaps it's too cold out. Wait... at -12 degrees farenheit, I know it's too cold. At least it's not as windy as yesterday, where the windchill was reaching 30 below. But I'm alone inside my house, listening to The Fray (currently, Vienna), so everything's alright. In fact, I think I'm going to cut my entry short and play piano in the dark. I love doing that. Wait... my family just invaded my house... piano won't be quite as peaceful. Or half as peaceful. Don't you love having 3 younger siblings? I guess I'll update everyone reading this that doesn't see me often:

I'm going to college for sure now. I heard back from Wooster and Gustavus, and they're both willing to house me for the next 4 years or so. I'm still waiting to hear from Lawrence and Hope, as well as different scholarships from Gustavus and Wooster, so it's up in the air as to where I'll actually end up. Until then, I'll be busy with work (every day now, with a raise, none of this 3-day week stuff), school, and practices for Rock n' Roll Revival... and then the million other evening things I've been stupid enough to include myself in. I'm far too busy. Too busy for you, too busy for xanga. It's quite sad, is it not? Speaking of being too busy for xanga, if someone of you people randomly stumble upon your subscriptions and read this, you should start writing more. Perhaps revive xanga? It's just a thought.

I just got a spam email titled "Agreeably Slung". Hahaha. I also got to experience the glory that is Minnesota weather. Tuesday it was 75 at least. Quite warm... shorts weather, actually. Yesterday we got about half a foot of snow. Something's not quite adding up. There's some link/passageway between Sunny With a High of 75, and digging our car out of the driveway that God decided not to give us. I guess we could more accurately call it Midwest weather, because almost every midwest state will claim that that type of weather is unique to them. I noticed that on college visits, and just laughed, because obviously Minnesota is the most tempermental weather, which leaves us Minnesotans the toughest (and most unique). A few different colleges liked to claim that they were special because they have a decent sized population of black squirrels. I guess every college needs to have something? It was a bit less impressive, when 3 out of the 6 colleges I visited on my trip made the same claim. The other 3 didn't vocalize their claim, but were still thinking it.

Oh, and recording has finally started in earnest. Or something resembling that. Our method is to do tracks seperately, because a one-track live recording would stink, and we don't have the equipment to do a live recording and get it on the different tracks. I kind of like this way better anyway... except that the first track is always the worst to record. We were fortunate to get three first tracks done in about 2 hours. I think it will go quicker once we get used to the procedure, as well as when we have the songs and order learned. But now we need to do vocals, drums, bass, and another guitar... which actually should be easy. Except for the guitar, because I hate working with multiple guitars (if they both use distortion) and drums just take forever. I'll try to keep you guys updated on when we have recordings available.

I visited colleges, it was a grand time. I've got my search narrowed down between 7 different colleges; Calvin, Wooster, Wheaton, Gustavus, Lawrence, Valpo and Hope. Some of them I'm almost positive I won't go to, but I really not sure yet. I'm really hard at being sure about any of the colleges. I think a lot of the decision will come down to money.... I'm hoping it will, because it will make the job easier for me. I'm also waiting for SAT scores, because maybe there's an off chance the score will be decent enough to get scholarships at the less academic schools.

The shows last Friday and the Saturday before went pretty well. In case you guys were curious, I really like playing shows. We didn't even do that bad, which is a plus. However, TPD practices considerably less for each show we do, and it sometimes shows. TPD is also undergoing a name change. Any suggestions? We were considering From Russia With Love, since our bass player is Russian, but I"m not so sure.

That's all for now, folks.

I just had an odd urge to do some blogging. Here goes nothing:

I've been doing a lot of college stuff recently. I took the SAT last Saturday, I won't really know how that went until I get my scores back (so don't bother asking). Sunday afternoon I'm leaving for a 4-day college trip. I'm going to Albion, Calvin and Hope on Monday, Wooster on Tuesday, and Valpo and Wheaton Wednesday. I was going to go to Denison and Oberlin as well, but to make things easier, I took them off my list of colleges. Denison's music program doesn't seem all that great, and Oberlin's a bit too smart for me. I've also been trying to arrange my senior pictures, which I have yet to do. I'm a little behind on things.

This Friday a band I'm in (well, kind of in; I'm their live drummer) is performing Friday. Then the next Friday, that band, The Anonymous 3 (the jazz trio), and The Phillip Difference are playing at the Coffee House. It's a grand time, hopefully we'll know what we're doing. Actually, tomorrow night TPD is having a lock-in/recording/practice session. Then a bit after that, choir and band concerts come up. Good ol' music.

Right now I'm feeling a lot like a senior. I'm really excited to go to college, yet there is a ton I'm going to miss here. Hopefully the second half of the year things will get less busy, and I can just enjoy being in highschool (and a senior, to boot!) That reminds me that a bunch of you I hardly talk to anymore. In fact, most of you. Please drop me a line; IM me, email me, comment me, anything. I want to hear how you guys are doing and what you're up to.

Hey guys. I've got a few big decisions coming up, and any prayer to help me decide would be nice. I've got the typical college decision, which is quite big. But on top of that, I need to decide stuff for youth group, and whether I'll even be going. And then there's a jazz band that I might be in, but if I get in, I don't know if I should do it anyway.... basically I need to think and pray about it, and any prayer you guys could give would also be great.

I promise I'll eventually write an entry with what I've been doing the past couple weeks.
