  • "People who live beside moving water have been given the gift of living light, and even if they have never come to recognize it as such, any other light, no matter how clear or brilliant, is pale and static to them, leaving them with a sense of loss, of vulnerability, as if they have suddenly found themselves without clothes.  "I have to be near the water," they will say. "I can't live away from the ocean" ...or the river or the creek, or whatever water throws back to them the sun, or the boiling storm clouds, or the pearl of moving fog, or the wash of sunset.  But what most of them are really saying, without knowing it, is, "I can't live without that light that dances with me. I wear it like living skin. Without it I am incomplete."  - Anne Rivers Siddons

     IMAGE. ~ ~

     2 Corinthians 3:18

    "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory (behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord), are being transformed into his likeness (image) with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit".~

    To reflect, by definition is:

    • to cast back (light, heat, sound, etc.) from a surface: The mirror reflected the light onto the wall.
    • to give back or show an image of; mirror.
    • (of an act or its result) to serve to cast or bring (credit, discredit, etc.) on its performer.
    • to reproduce; show: followers reflecting the views of the leader.
    • to be reflected or mirrored.
    • to give back or show an image.
    • to think, ponder, or meditate
    • to serve by association

  • Behold the Lord~

     "I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame." Ps 34: 4-5

    There’s a deep principle there, that whether we look to the light or the dark we will reflect what we are looking at. If we look to the darkness we’ll be somber and dark but if we look upwards to the Lord who is the light, our faces will become radiant with the Lord’s light and the Scripture says, “we’ll never be ashamed, we’ll never be disappointed, the Lord will never let us down.”

    "And be not conformed to this world [the dark foreboding of anxious thoughts, competition and strife...or even the self-satisfied smug religiousity of judgement], but be ye TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind" Romans 12:2

    That word TRANSFORMED from the Greek means  METAMORPHOSIS

    The same word is used in 2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."

    The same word is used when Jesus was TRANSFIGURED on the Mt as He spoke with Moses & Elijah.

     CHANGED! ~TRANSFORMED! ~TRANSFIGURED!

    Psalm 61:1-4

     "Hear my cry, O God;
             Attend to my prayer.
     From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
             When my heart is overwhelmed;
             Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

     For You have been a shelter for me,
             A strong tower from the enemy.
     I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
             I will trust in the shelter of Your wings."
