| So CWSC has gone and gone, but the memories will forever remain. It may have seemed that I have gone with it… But I am here; and as for the memories of me, well that is up to you whether they will remain with you or not. If you have a Facebook, you will know that I am around; otherwise you may have guessed that I’ve ceased to exist. Pictures from the conference are all there on Facebook, so if you want to see them, try something different and get yourself one. I’ve decided to write less about my life on Xanga, and rather put that energy into living. I have so much, and I want to enjoy it the best I am able. My computer takes too much time away from my family as it is, so I will be spending more time with them, which means you will hear less on my end, through this means at least. Enjoy what you have today, for tomorrow you may wake up with less. <3 U all! ~Amelia That was rather morbid, I feel like it was my farewell address or something. Really though, I just thought I’d explain why I hadn’t been around on xanga, if you were even wondering. I’ll be starting college at Liberty University for real in the fall. Rather exciting and scary because I have no clue what I’m doing. But then maybe that’s why I’m going back to school. J This summer, part of my family went here…. …the nation’s capital (Washington D.C) for those wondering or who did not otherwise guess. There in one of the many museums we were told that this creature was one of our ancestors. I choose not to believe them…but if you do, then just know that your tax dollars are being put to good use. ...But then i don't know...there is quite a resemblance... :-p

| I went to Jamestown yesterday with a group of mostly history major seniors (my sister Charity being one of them) from Liberty University. It was incredible fun and full of stimulating conversation, and I was even able to keep up with some of them. It was most beautiful there, at the re-creation site, and then the actual grounds along the James River, nothing being left except the cornerstones of a few brick houses. Preparation was under way for the arrival of the Queen of England, who is expected in May during the 400 Anniversary festivities.
On the way back from the trip we stopped at McDonalds (I know *gasp*, I actually eat at fast food places) and while there I convinced my sister to go with me into the kid’s “PlayPlace” and go through the tubes and down the slides…man it was fun, besides the fact that I could sit at the top of the slide while my feet reached the bottom of it. Ok, maybe not quite, but near enough. A father was in there with his two children and just laughed at us as we made out way past his kids to reach the top of the slide. My time in there ended after I decided to go the slide head first and it skinned the top layer of skin off my hip while doing so. Felt worse then a rug burn…I left in a lot of pain, and it still hurts. Maybe that’s what I get for trying to live life to its fullest. It’s not to be regretted though; I shall view it only in light of what wonderful memories were made. *laughs at self* Recently I had Fruit Loops and ice cream Dots for the first time ever. My life will be forever changed. I try new things all the time. *smiles* A few weeks back some friends and I did a Civil War living history. It has been about a year since I have been in my outfits and I feared that they would no longer fit, but thanks to a wonderful little thing called a corset, my clothes fit just as tightly as before.
Starting to look for my own vehicle, have been for awhile now actually…it’s way overdue. Now just to find one within my price range, and holding to many other qualifications. Wish me luck. I hope you have a wonderful week you all…my once Distance Learning class ends this week *am excited* and I will be playing in many recitals/concerts, so I have much to keep me busy, as I’m sure you all do too…enough to keep you from reading my xanga at least. Well, if you do have any extra time, I’d love to hear how you are doing. ~Goodnight to all
| You would think by the look on my Xanga for the past month it has been always winter and never Christmas, well I guess we did have that, but spring is most definitely here now. It seemed as if overnight the daffodils and flowering cherry trees came out. We have already been hiking with family that was up from Texas…it was so nice to be outside and in the high altitude again, I always forget how much I miss it. Nothing beats the season’s changes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. ~At the base of Peaks of Otter~
and from the top~
Even our family’s lifestyle seems to change to the rhythm of each current season. With spring soccer for two brothers, and my sister’s riding and saddle club, Sam’s ongoing karate schedule, and my participation in two college orchestras leaves little room for just watching the change, as I help to get kids to their daily commitments. It seems our family does well to eat one dinner together per week, as there are at least two things going on each evening. But then maybe my family isn’t so different then most, no? My parents and the younger kids went on a field trip to Williamsburg the other week and mom ended up coming back with all these recipes that she picked up at the Governor’s Palace. Needless to say some of the things she made were quite interesting. From boiled stuffed cabbage with meat and raisins to an alcoholic drink called Sillabub, which consists of curdled cream with sherry with the cream rises to the top while the fermented liquid remains at the bottom. I enjoyed it immensely while other in the family found it quite revolting.
I’ve been busy with my job as a nanny. A couple weeks ago, Mrs. Bell, the lady I work for, went to Arizona for about five days, which left my best friend and me in charge of the house, her son Jonathon, and cooking for her husband in the evening and being there so he could go to work at 6 in the morning. It was a good experience and game me a taste of what running a house and being with a kid 24/7 all entails. For the most part it just included doing more of what I do here at home. Good times, he’s a wonderful kid and I would consider him very much mine. J I don’t think his mom would mind too much. They live on a beautiful 18-hold golf course, so we get out to "run on the road" as much as possible. It provided great enjoyment and gives a nice diversion in the middle of the day. Plus I’ve gotten to know many of the people there, and it’s a fun little community to be a part of. ~My little man~
Much geometry is awaiting me and you know how i hate being inside for long, so I had best stop my typing, but I did figure it was time to give some kind of update. I hope you all are doing wonderful and getting outdoors as much as possible. ~yours truly
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens
| To my brother, protector, and friend… Happy Birthday Samuel!!!
Ok, so what if this is a day late... I love you!! You’re the best!!
| yay!! spring is most definitely in the air, though I think it will take its time in arriving. Sheesh *tries to be patient* Went to see We Are Marshall with the family tonight, good movie. It's so fun going to the movies with like nine other people that are all members of your family. ha! Don’t need a date to enjoy this one. *smiles* I went swing dancing the other night for the first time ever! It was incredible and not so hard to learn as I might have thought...built guy friends are nice for such times...*grins* Ok, here are the rest of your pictures...
i know the light kinda washed our faces out

It was a wonderful time spent with you all...we must do it again soon. You are right Rebecca, Coldplay does rock, and so does the Fray, as does friends who are willing to share their music. *smiles* O and I ate the best Mediterranean food the other day…I thought of you and wanted to bring some too you, but I had to eat it all, as lamb and rice, humus, yogurt, and pitas only last so long. Trust me when I say it was good though! So I am apart of one college orchestra and another college chamber orchestra, both of which are keeping me busy on top of my private lessons, but they are SO worth it! I wish you all could make it to here them, or at least one of them. Have a wonderful week you all!
