I've set up this new profile to replace one that I've had for quite some time. I hate that I had to leave a moniker that I believe reflected me more accurately than this one, but I have to start a "new life," hence, a new profile.
I read an article where Alicia Keys said that she always felt that, if people knew about her, they'd be able to use it against her. This seems to be in the family of "familiarity breeds contempt." These sentiments, in part, speak to my need to separate from my old profile. There's something liberating about posting one's thoughts publicly, partially because this "public" isn't emotionally invested. I've found that I appreciate this disinterested audience, and the comments they sometimes feel compelled to post. Their objectivity is refreshing, and there doesn't seem to be a need to wonder about their motives for commenting.
Greetings to those to whom I had subscribed and carried over. Although I don't know some of you, I appreciate your postings, and look forward to reading your perspectives on life, whether it be through words or images. Thanks for commenting (or not!).
