| Well, I am here in Providence again. I didn't think there would ever be reason for me to return but here I am. I have been given a new job with benefits and a good salary. I am here for a while. God's plans are mysterious. When I left Providence last Spring, I didn't like the city one itsy bitsy bit. Now I can't get enough of it!
The job is so wonderful. I enjoy almost everything about it. A couple of weeks ago we put up the apparel department's show. We have had a textiles show, an industrial design show and presently we are revving up to install the graphic design senior show. I just love working with and around artists literally all day long! My office is cool. Get this... the building my office is in is on the National Historic Registry. It is a big old brick building with huge windows and amazing crown molding.
Better even than the job, I am getting ready to be married in about three months. That is also coming together in such a way that only God could possibly have orchestrated. He is taking care of Shannon and I so well. I am most excited about the three piece jazz band we are hiring and the posters we are screen printing for the wedding.
Anthony, I want your opinion on this poster when I start making it. Mel, I do read your blog and blizzarding or not, it's worth writing about what's happening. Astri, How are things in So Cal?
Blessings all. | | |
| Shannon and I are engaged! I can hardly believe it myself yet, but it's
true. She came to visit me this weekend. I proposed on Friday at the
Walker sculpture garden in between breakfast at Key's diner in St. Paul
and going to Solera, a Spanish style tapas restaurant in Minneapolis
for dinner.
She claims she didn't know about it but I have my doubts. :)
We are both thrilled (of course I am going to get some "no duhs") Well, it's true. For now, we are thinking a May wedding.
I am just gushing love for everyone and everything right now. Love for everyone. Come and get your fresh love.

| I ran my first 5K race yesterday morning in Stillwater. If you are interested in seeing how I did, here is a link to the race results. http://www.andersonraces.com/Results/stillwaterrs06.htm | | |
| I have found my life's calling. Well, maybe not the entirety of my calling but certainly part of it. The last couple of days I have been working on a collaborative mural for my church. The pastor is giving a sermon series soon and they wanted a mural to go with it.
This is the heart of the matter: I find so much satisfaction in both the collaborative and the creative and when the two are put together, it's even better. There is a social element and a sense of shared goals and common experience. There is also the economy of ideas and exchange that is bettering to all involved.
So that is that.

| I was looking at a job in an art department at the University of
Kentucky. On Saturday, I got an e-mail from them saying that I didn't
get into the next level of interviews ( I have already interviewed over
the telephone with them). The momentary disappointment gave way pretty
quickly to contentment with the outcome. I have several other options
now and there is always the way that God sends you off in a completely
unforseen direction at an unforseen time. After a setback I am always
excited to say, "Who knows what could happen? Maybe I will find myself
being led towards such and such..."
I am drinking a Coca Cola from a glass bottle at Dunn Brothers in
Hudson, Wisconsin. It is too small though, only 8 ounces. Have any of
you ever had a 16 ounce glass bottle of coca cola?
One of the unforseen events that has just crossed my path is an
opportunity I just heard about today. One of the women at our church
here in Hudson is a regionally known painter. She has been asked to do
a large mural as part of the upcoming sermon series. I am going to be
able to pitch in and work on this mural with her.
Peace to all.
