| my students always raise such a question: what is Philosophy? I always felt uncomfortable towards this question. Though I like philosophy alot, I took courses in University, the majority of books i read is related to it, I couldn't answer it in a simple term. It is so weird. When people ask me what Economics is , I can answer it promptly: It helps explain human behaviour. Is that because I actually don't know what Philosophy is? I remember I have read several books, which have given a definition to philosophy. Unfortunately, I forgot them. They are not impressive. Some said Philosophy is a subject which tries to raise questions and it is the mother of many subjects, like Biology, Logic, Psychology, When I was required to give a definition to philosophy, I could just tell my students that it teaches us how to think. I don't exactly agree to what I said, coz Philosophy is , of course, not confined to this field. Yet, this was the most acceptable answer in my mind. Perhaps, I saw the usefulness of it. Tonight, i want to give a new definition to it. ( Inspired by Tsui Hoi kun) Besisde offering you a clear mind, it leads you to a happier life. When you face a problem in your life, philsophy gives you another perspertive to look at it, although you can't change the situation.
