There was the cherry blossom festival at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden over the weekend. They have the festivals every year. There's also one up in Riverside but thats too far up in the Bronx for me.

Oooh, Canon SD800? Did you use the Macro mode? You can get much closer with the Macro mode. Set it to center focus.
