Hi!

Most of my pics were taken with a SLR. I also used the Canon Powershot S500. I think it's just the settings on the camera. I think you have the metering mode to Evaluative. I think Center-Weighted is good.

When shooting random things like people, you can shoot from the hip or not compose the shot. Because when you compose it, people tend to stop because they think they're getting into your shot.

I prefer close up shots unless it's a landscape one. Also when shooting Macro, you can zoom it in more too.
