so I wrote a 3rd verse to my bluesy song "Untitled".  It's in bold for those of you musically challenged.

take a listen and tell me what you think...I know the vocals are hard to hear because (1) I have a crappy mic and (2) I'm singing while I'm playing, so the vocals are syncronized w/ the guitar (which accounts for the crappy singing too =p).

"Untitled" by Anil Philip

She keeps my feet on the ground
Wonderin' how
I'm ever gonna live without a woman around
But I gotta get up to get down

We always know how to hold on
Mercy cuddles up until the cold is gone
But not long
Before one decides that the other one's wrong

Prechorus:
So you and I
Were waiting for a moment to arrive
Before we realized
Our time won't wait for us to live our lives

Chorus:
So remind me why we're wasting our time

Maybe we don’t know what we want
Maybe growin’ old will state it
Lady, I suppose we'll take on
The shape that we’ve created

[prechorus]
[chorus]

We're movin'
We're movin'
We're movin' on before we know it

[prechorus]
[chorus]

Go Chicago!!!

First time in 88 years! Only one other team tops them in such a world series championship drought.  Of course that being, none other than, the OTHER hometown team, the Cubbies.

I'm primarily a Cubs fan, but when it comes to a Chicago team in the hunt for red October (k I really don't know what that means), my team prejudicial pride shifts in support of my city. I'm no fair-weather fan, just championship-stricken. It's been all too long, my friends, but it's finally here.

look out next season for the Cubs to seek their first in, count 'em, 98 years!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, POOJA!

Thursday, October 20, 2005

arright, here's "City Love" again...

but this time, during the interlude, I go into the chorus of "You're All I Need" by Mary J. Blige...

why, you ask?

I don't know...it just felt right.

oh and 'brace yourself -- there's a lot of falsetto on this one. eek.

btw, I'd like some feedback on the falsetto...is it too much? does it break the flow and just make you laugh? I plan on performing it on Saturday, so let me know please! oh and disregard the part around 3:37.  That was an improvisational mistake. =p Sometimes I get carried away w/ the falsetto...but yea...comment on the rest of the falsetto, heh.

pssst...*seven days* ...('til it expires).

So here's me doing a cover of "City Love" by John Mayer. =p

when it goes "I've got a city love, and I found it in Lydia", I replaced "Lydia" w/ "Nisha" just to personalize it.

I also personalized it by sucking at playing it.

hahahaha...no.

[download]

get it while you can, it expires in 7 days or when too many people download it...hopefully the latter will occur. =p

here's the lyrics I'm singing...

"City Love" by John Mayer

I never liked this apple much
It always seemed too big to touch
I can't remember how I found
My way before she came around

I tell everyone
I smile just because
I've got a city love
I found it in Nisha
And I can't remember life before her name

She keeps her toothbrush at my place
As if I had the extra space
She steals my clothes to wear to work
I know, her hairs are on my shirts (they're on all of my shirts)

I tell everyone
I smile just because
I've got a city love
I found it in Nisha
And I can't remember life before
The day
She called up and came to me
Covered in rain
And dinnertime shadowing
And as her clothes spun, we spooned
And I knew I was through
When I said "I love you"

Friday evening, we've been drinking
2 A.M., I swear I might purpose
But we close a tab
Split a cab
And call eachother up when we get home
Falling asleep to the sound
Of silence

I've got a city love
And I found it in Nisha
From the battery
To the gallery
It's the kind of thing you only see
In scented, glossy magazines

And I can't remember life before her name
