I flunked my 1 hour glucose tolerance test last week. I have to take the 3 hour on the 10th. I really dread that. I will be starving and they draw blood 4 times! No fun at all!
I am not sure why they are making me do this again since they know I had gestational diabetes with Dalton. And I have been eating diabetic and checking my sugar levels the entire pregnancy.
Other that that, I am doing great. I am beginning to get uncomfortable at times. It happened a lot later with Dalton. I think having dalton is art of it. I have to bend over lots more. And I have to pick him up and carry him at times.
I am almost 28 weeks and I can't wait to hold my little girl!

Hi All!
I had forgotten that I even had this weblog until I got a message today.
I had my beautiful baby boy, Dalton. He is now almost 19 moths. He is the greatest joy in my life. I am also pregnant with a little girl and due April 29, 2004. We are very excited. She is a surprise and was conceived without any fertility drugs. We had an ultrasound in Nov and she looks just perfect!
I'll try to update more now!

Reproductive Specialists are great

(BACKGROUND INFO)
We began trying for our first child on April 1, 2000. I found out I was pregnant in August 2000. I lost that pregnancy very soon after the positive test.

We kept trying, but I do not have regular cycles. One was 25 days, the others were more like 40-70. The OB I was seeing at the time started me on 50 mg Clomid on days 3-7.

I didn't ovulate until day 32, but I did get pregnant in April 2001. I lost this one soon after also.

So, the OB gave me 100 mg clomid to start after a normal period. I ovulated on day 18 and got pregnant once again in August 2001.

Meanwhile, I had asked the doc if I could get progesterone because my sister needed progesterone. He said that he didn't believe that progesterone worked. Needless to say, I lost another baby.

Dan went with me while the OB examined me. He was so awful.

So, I went to my primary doc and she referred me to a specialist after doing a few tests.

I had an ultrasound to make sure everything looked OK. And I had an HSG to check my tubes and uterus. Everything looked great.

The RE looked at my history and knew exactly what to do. He has a great interest in recurrent pregnancy losses and had just completed a study with excellent results. So, off I wentt with 100 mg of Clomid (since this dose seemed to work for me) I ovulated on day 18 again. And 7 days later I got a shot of HCG. This was suppose to keep my uterine lining perfect for implantation. It worked. I had a positive test and I began 200 mg progesterone suppositories every night. At 6 weeks, the RE did an ultrasound and we saw the
baby and the heartbeat. It was wonderful. He told me to continue the progesterone every night until 8 weeks and then every other night for a week. So, after 9 weeks, no more progesterone. I knew I didn't need it anymore anyway, because I began throwing up every morning. at 8 weeks.

Basically, my diagnosis was luteal phase deficiency. I had the normal 12-14 day luteal phase, but apparently something wasn't right. I just could not sustain a pregnancy. And the hcg shot and progesterone worked great.

I hope that answers some of your questions! And thanks for the well wishes.

I will keep writing here when I have time. There are just things I don't want family and friends to read. LOL!

12 weeks today!

I can't describe how it feels to be 12 weeks pregnant. I am still worried though. I ordered a dopler from babybeat.com today so I can hear the heartbeat whenever I want. That will help me keep my sanity. I can't wait for it to arrive.

We had an appointment with a new OB on Nov. 26th. I just could not go back to the one that made me suffer through 3 miscarriages when all I really needed was progesterone. He didn't believe in progesterone! I really want to write them a letter, but I am still bitter.

Anyway, the new OB is absolutely wonderful. I did find out that I am not immune to the measles though. That kinda worries me. He did another ultrasound. The heartbeat was 182 and he measured at 10 weeks and 5 days. So, the OB has my due date at June 18, 2002. Yippee!

I go back on Dec 21st for a routine appointment and then in January for an ultrasound to see the sex. I can't wait. I need to know what color clothes to buy!

I threw up almost every morning between 8 weeks and 12 weeks. I am feeling better now. And I am a bit less tired. I can stay up past 8 most nights anyway!

Dan made a web page for the little one. I will try to journal there. In fact, he made links for me, but they are empty so far.
