  • I got the job! :) HR contacted me yesterday to inform me that the company is in the middle of compiling an offer which will be ready Wednesday. I cannot wait to start working!

  • I have a good feeling tomorrow is when I'll find out about the outcome from all the interviews I had with one company.  I've interviewed with probably seven people, the last being the vice president, for an analyst position at a large retail company.  I really want this job - it's exactly what I've envisioned doing with my life, and the people who I've met are really cool - it's actually my dream job.  But I haven't heard from them the last couple days, and just want to know what is going on!?!  Even if it's not exactly the news I want to hear, I'll be able to cry move on and chalk this up as an educational experience.

Today was a great day - Willie and I met up with another couple for lunch in St. Petersburg, and we just walked around enjoying the cool weather.  The couple had just purchased a new motorcycle, and it's so cute to see Willie looking over it with such excitement.  I can kinda see what he looked like when he was a little kid - the glee on his face.  He truly loves motorcycles - and if I get the job, I'll ...let him get one.  God - I hope I don't regret this down the line later!

  • Sundays

I love Sunday mornings - waking up in the morning with my husband and our two dogs; sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee, talking with Willie and just being with him, knowing we don't have to be anywhere for the day.  :)

This Sunday's a little different - I have training at the Humane Society.  I used to volunteer there when in high school, and have always enjoyed it.  Being unemployed, I have too much time on my hands, so I've decided to spend some with the stray cats and dogs of Pinellas County.  That way, I can get my cat fix without bringing on home - Willie's extremely allergic to cats, and he has mentioned to me they look like mutant-sized rats.

  • Mickey, oh Mickey

Now there's no turning back.  The other day, I signed up for the Walt Disney World 2008 Marathon; the run will take place in January.  A friend who is a seasoned marathon runner and thinks doing these are fun! - will be bravely training me for the next few months.  Bless her - I'm the kind of person who will want to curl up and sleep after a climb up a flight of stairs.  *cringe*

See-see how this little adventure goes.  I'm living with inspiration in my own house - Willie is in the middle of training for a triathlon.  He'll work out during his lunch breaks, swimming, running or biking.  He even gets up at 5:00 AM - willingly - to go for a run AND bike.  I get tired just talking about this!  :)  Anyways, I'm so happy he's getting back in touch with his athletic side with the dedication he's been showing the last few months, and I hope to do the same too.

But right now - I'm thinking it's nap time.  :)

  • When visiting websites, I'm always typing the address wrong.  I just did the same thing for Gmail, and stumbled on a gold-mine:

    http://www.gamil.com/

Their introduction: "You may have arrived here by misspelling Gmail. We understand. Typing fast is not our strongest skill. But since you've typed your way here, let's share. First, you should know that Gamil is a product and graphic design firm. We’ve been around for 10+ years. Our name means “beautiful.” We're experimenting with this page to pay for the unexpected added Gmail bandwidth, and to show off ideas we love and creative folks we know."

I love looking at other people's designs.  I look forward to the day when all Deaf artists get together and showcase their work on a singular website.  Unless it's already in place, and it's the one address I haven't been mistyping.  :)
