Kent: *spills food* Lyss: Have you got an eating disorder? Kent: I have an existence disorder. Lyss: *sympathetically* That's okay. You'll get over it.
Kent: I'm sorry I've been moving around and keeping you awake all night, and then getting you up early... Lyss: Hey, it's good preparation for when we have a two-year-old. Kent: Yeah. *pause* Hey, what's that supposed to mean?

| A Raleigh newspaper had the following paragraph today:
"Dr. Calvin O. Butts III calls on St. Augustine's College graduates to
be courageous and not sucked in by materialism but to work hard and
demand better housing, better health care and better gas prices -- not
just for the wealthy but for all."
So...demand better housing! Better health care! Better gas prices! And don't be sucked by materialism!
I like the speaker's name, though. It really sticks out.

| Spring has finally come to the Palouse...
...and so I'm celebrating accordingly:

| Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi for dummiesI'm one of those people who's the last person to find a joke, so by the time I pass it around everyone's saying "Yup, heard that one."
I don't mind, though, which is why I present this quote (courtesy of The Avenue):
“One reason why we Christians argue so much about which hymn to sing,
which liturgy to follow, which way to worship is that the commandments
teach us to believe that bad liturgy eventually leads to bad ethics.
You begin by singing some sappy, sentimental hymn, then you pray some
pointless prayer, and the next thing you know you have murdered your
best friend.” — Stanley Hauerwas
