So last night's show was pretty awesome, though I could only stay for three bands.
    an overview of the trip...
driving there.... was kinda scary since it was my first time. the back tires on my car are nearly bald but no one in my family's doing anything about it. so I'm just waiting for them to die any second. there was this awesome curve towards the beginning of 17 where it's basically a u-turn, and it was SO FUN! I rather like windy roads. it's like you're in a car commercial. when I got to Santa Cruz, there was this girl in the car next to mine who looked EXACTLY like Sue. it was SO creepy. It was kind of awesome how everyone was just walking around outside, hanging out. I missed the place, 418 Project, like three times and ended up parking in a lot down the street so I could find it on foot. Mass of band people/equipment/vans = you've found it. As I didn't have anyone to talk to and I was an hour early (supposed to only be 1/2 hour, but turned out the show started at 7:30 instead) I just sat down on the sidewalk. Some guy came up to me, asked me stuff, forgot what, but there was something about how far I drove and who I'm there to see... Turns out he was from one of the other bands and was born in Fremont. Told me his name but I forgot like immediately. Then the guy who gave me a free copy of PK's CD (their singer) walked by and recognized me! from a month ago! Told him I REALLY loved the CD, he said something like it was nice to actually meet... his name's Travis. I kept leaving.... I needed to pee, I needed to put stuff in my car, I needed to check if I even LOCKED my car (I forget every once in a while, usually in my mom's car). Davis from Hazel and Vine kept walking around, along with some of the other guys, but they looked busy so I didn't go talk to them.
    Show.
Metabear played first. I heard of them because Eric Victorino had a song of theirs on his myspace. They were AWESOME. I didn't take pictures because the people taking pictures had nice cameras and I felt super-inferior.
Like the Ocean played second. The first guy I talked to when I got there was in this band. They were pretty awesome. Kind-of hardcorish leanings. But still kind of pop-punk-rock ish? Yeah.
PK! AMAZING. Not much else to say. I'm so glad I went. I needed to see them. And the singer (Travis, haha) sings exactly the same live and recorded. Pretty cool. At one point, two guitarists both broke the same string. LTO lent one of them a guitar but the other said he didn't need that string anyway. Oh, I was standing next to the guy from LTO that I met and he was making me sing... it was fun. I only really knew the words to 2/6 songs they played.
between LTO and PK, I went to the merch tables. LTO had free cookies & stickers. I think the metabear cds were free, but there was no one to ask so I didn't take one. I went to talk to Kyle (from HAV, duh) to see if we were still hanging out Tuesday. He said he doesn't break pinkie-promises. YAY! excited.  I was gonna buy a cd but he said Davis would help me cause he had to go pee. LOL. So Davis apparently recognized me from previous shows, though I never got a chance to talk to him before. He asked for a hug, which was super-awesome. I needed one after driving there anyway. I got their live CD, though I really should not have spent the money. Talked to Davis for a little bit about I don't even remember what, then went to go eat my cookie. Then at like 9:45, when Picture Atlantic was almost ready to play, I had to leave.
    driving home.
Not too bad, though I think I was pissing off the people behind me. I was driving 40-45-50 the entire time. I DON'T WANT TO DIE, FUCKERS. When I got out of the main windy part and was back in SJ, I was really thirsty and managed to open my sealed water bottle and drink it without crashing or even barely swerving. The swerve happened when I went to put the bottle away. Got home 20 minutes early, told my mom the fun stuff. went to my room, realized I forgot my phone in the car and still had to tell Sue I was ok. went to get my phone and hit my head, which already hurt, on the roof of the car. OWWWW.

anyways... excited for Tuesday. LOL, third HAV show in 8 days.

    Well that was weird.

I seriously had the weirdest dream.
So In the beginning, I'm driving to Santa Cruz, with Sue. Not part of the plan. Plus it's way later than my real plans. I get there and see the band I want to see driving away, and think, oh shit I missed them (my plans tonight are that I will most likely miss their set but I'll see another band and just say hi to them). Then in some super-weird situation I'm talking to one of the band members and saying I missed the show and I'd had two dreams already about this happening. Well funny thing, I'd actually already had one OTHER dream last night about missing them. So in reality, I had two dreams. Which fact was referenced in the second of these two dreams. So in that dream, I guess I knew it was a dream, but only subconsciously. It would have been even weirder if the fact had been referenced in the first of the two dreams, meaning my subconscious knew I was gonna have another one.

Anyways I'm kind of worried about driving to Santa Cruz. For one, I have all these illusions now of already having missed the show. Plus, I've never driven there alone. And I'll be leaving around 9:30/9:45. Pretty late. But as I've never driven there myself (or paid attention when others drove me) I don't know if that's early enough to be home by 11.
