| 07.18.2008 Olympics Cruise Half day in office and the rest of the day I worked on the bauhinia cruise. The annual customer cruise ended on a high note. It was a great experience with Harold the buddy as the event manager given that most of the helpers were not aware the importance of rehearsal. Perhaps in the past few years I have been trained to be a responsible team member no matter which role I'm taking on. Be it event manager, backdrop helper, PR, MC, receptionist, photographer. Big hand to Harold!
Dim light -- show time I wasn't nervous at all, unlike the other 3 MCs. The goddess toga? Albeit it wasn't 100% in line with my expectation, I didn't react as badly as my partner. To be honest, even a huge company looks into ways to minimize costs. "Reality sometimes departs from dream", I told my partners mischievously. Sometimes I think that I was born to smile in front of strangers or I love smiling at the strangers if I'm not shaped to. It's a piece of cake to me. 11pm : Carpool with Duncan, Trevor, Olivia and Jun from North Point Pier back home. Thanks for your brilliant idea, Kowloon residents! Unfortunately, upon dropping Trevor at Hunghom, Duncan and I had to switch to another cab cuz the driver was unfamiliar with the traffic on the Kowloon side. It was 11:45pm at the remote and dimly lit Hunghom. |

| Time pressure lessens in my 2nd week. Sunshine stays with the city and this favors my lunch gathering with friends. |

| I couldn't recall what I've been working on for the last 5 days. Half of the team is on vacation/training and the role of back-up back-up and back-up left me stranded on my own projects. I don't even have a minute to think about what I should have for lunch. Glad that this week is over and I can respite for 2 days.
You have to work even harder! ----- With the Octopus card, one's life can be easier in terms of transportation and small amount purchases. The little card saves us the trouble of carrying heavy coins. I would say it's becoming the no. 2 must have, after mobile phone, for HKers. Last night I didn't realize that my octopus card was still in office until I reached the MTR station. That is such a gruelling and depressing journey back to office when I couldn't wait to have dinner with my mum. --- 1/52 of the year is gone. Finger-crossed. |
