I found this article online regarding a man in Basra who killed his
daughter because she was infatuated with a British soldier. Not only is
the man not charged with anything, Basra authorities have lauded his
actions. The man's wife divorced him over the events and received a severe beating including a broken arm. I want to believe this isn't widely accepted. So much of this
article is despicable. Honestly, I don't want to believe the events in
this article even happened. I don't see how a religion can condone, or worse, endorse these actions.
Please, read this article and tell me there is any hope for Iraq, because I'm not currently seeing it.
