Transitions...

UVa is a tough place for me right now.  I don't feel like I have any friends, I have no idea what's going on in class, and I certainly don't fit in by any normal standards.  I feel like it's middle school with the cliques and the lockers and the "cool" people.  I don't know why I should even care, but I do.  Insecurities, I suppose.  Anyway, here's hoping you all are doing better at your respective places in life.  Cheers.

My new favorite male tennis player is officially Dmitry Tursunov (Russian but is trying to obtain U.S. citizenship).  Go read his blog... it's hilarious!!

http://www.atptennis.com/en/blog/tursunov.asp

A couple of examples that made me laugh (yes, laugh!):

And the second question - I’m NOT joking! - was, “What do you think about Marat?” Ummm… I’m speechless…. I wonder if the journalist woke up today and thought to herself… “Hmmm… I wonder what would be a good question for Dmitry?! I know!!! How about I ask him what he thinks about Marat!!! Yes, yes! That is indeed a brilliant question!!! I must write it down before I forget it! How didn’t I think of it sooner?!”

There is bacon, croissants, meats, sausages, and little cup cakes that are smiling at me and asking me to taste them.

Nothing better than smiling food!!! :)  Have a great week!

Okay!  As of today, this is how the stupid law school app results stand:

Choosing between: UC Hastings and UC Davis.
Waitlisted to: Northwestern, Columbia, Michigan, Virginia, Boston, Penn.
Pending: UCLA, USC, Hah-vuhd (pointless but still no response!).
Offended by: Cornell, Boston, Duke (rejection today! pfft!).

Should I go to Davis or Hastings?  Ack!  I bought myself until June with a deposit....

Also, at the temp agency today my interviewer called me an overachiever.  I haven't heard that since high school!!! Hahaha!  Overachieve, me? Pfft!

On another sad note, apparently I type 95 wpm with corrections!  I swear I usually type faster than that...

[20:54] moodsick15: apparently i only type 95 wpm though
[20:54] moodsick15: but i think that's wrong!!
[20:55] moodsick15: i messed up on the test
[20:55] moodsick15: and i clicked some button that made one of those windows things pop up
[20:55] moodsick15: that took me temporarily out of the typing test
[20:58] stephen403: lol
[20:58] stephen403: 95wpm is really good
[20:58] stephen403: haha
[20:58] stephen403: I think that's funny

p.s. i don't think people read my xanga anymore ;)

Sometimes you can see the good intentions of someone but what he is saying comes out all wrong.  Okay, that happens a _lot_ in my family, especially with my dad.

So I tell him I got rejected from University of Chicago today, which really bummed me out because it is very intellectual and I am not a pragmatist.  And I just _know_ he's trying to make me feel better, he's trying to say something about how my dean had told me that a lot of these schools are reach schools with my GPA so I should be unsurprised at many rejections and happy with an acceptance already.

Instead, it comes out like this: "well, you know your dean said you wouldn't even get into Hastings, so you shouldn't be upset about getting a lot of rejections."

Sometimes people ought stop why they're ahead ;).
