Ugh.  I'm getting tired of hearing people complain about the whole "Beowulf didn't sleep with Grendel's mom in the book!" thing.  First, it's not a book; it's an epic poem.  Second, the whole point is the legend said Grendel's mom was hideous, everyone thought she was hideous, only Hroogar and Beowulf knew the truth.  Beowulf tries to tell Wiglaf, but Wiglaf wants to continue believing the same story they've had their whole life.  And he continues to tell, as does the rest of the world, so that is what is passed down to us.  The movie relays what 'really happened'.  I thought it was very inventive, creative, and original, and made the story much more interesting.

So for all of you who think it doesn't follow the original story, well, that's kinda the whole point.  Try to keep up next time.
