Their show, "A Little NIGHTMARE Music", starts off with a seemingly normal concert. When a cell phone starts to ring, the nightmare at the concert begins... The piano is locked up, and asks the user to insert a credit card; the violinist (Igudesman) music turns Irish tone, which turns him and the pianist (Joo) into "Riverdancers"; the violinist losts his bow in a vacuum; and the pianist had to play the piano upside down...

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw their show clips on YouTube. Out of these nightmares, I gave the most laughs to the Piano Lesson clip.

【Piano Lesson】

I love this clip, too. Joo and Igudesman work great together. I'd love to have this wood tools for playing piano... :P

【Rachmaninov Had Big Hands】

Other Videos:

Ticket To Ride
If you youtube the original Beatles "Ticket To Ride, you'd see how well Joo composed the "Mozart" version of it. I seriously think he sounds like that Amadieus actor. This is what Igudesman said in the beginning... "Similar to the dolphin who is not a part of the family of fish, the singer is not a part of the family of musicians..."

I Will Survive

Riverdancers

ENJOY!
Dictionary.com Words of the Year 2006

Do you know what are the words of the year? (yes, I borrowed them from dictionary.com)

Top 10 Looked-up Words

1. love

2. affect

3. effect

4. good

5. beautiful

6. metaphor

7. integrity

8. experience

9.irony

10. happy

no big surprises, right? Sitting with a whole table of strangers was a disaster. They were three Chinese/Canto-speaking families, who were friends of my uncle. I could only hear Cantonese shouting across the table, with the Chinese style "did you eat this?", "eat more, eat more", "help yourself , help yourself". The funny part is, these people weren't even the host, but they all acted like they were the host. One woman was particularly great at this, she constantly scooped fish-balls/shrimps/whatever out of the hot pot and served to EVERYBODY near her. I don't think I can survive through another dinner like this. "Chinese" people are scary!!

Sunday, December 10, 2006

This is a conversation between two smart CMU alums.

Y: Are we leaving on the 20th or the 21st?
Z: I don't know.
