Greetings!  Sorry to have not written in so long--has been rather busy here.  Such is life, or my current perception of 't.  Actually I've been doing some pretty cool stuff recently--volunteering at an event where the President spoke on Bio-Diesel and energy policy; starting my internship with Senator Allen's Office; and doing my best to maintain a life.

Working with/for Senator Allen has been most fascinating.  I've gotten to enter data, sort data, answer the phone, compile data, call people on the phone, listen to voicemail, transfer people on the phone, take messages, send people to voicemail, and YES--place people on hold!    The people that I work with are all very nice and understanding.  I don't think I've made any major slip-ups yet, however, the summer is long and the potential will be there for quite some time.  One item of great interest currently is the whole filibuster rule change deal.  Because the computer monitors for all the computers function as TV's as well, I've gotten to watch a lot of C-SPAN2 and the debates on the floor of the Senate.  When you're working for a Senator and said Senator is on national television, it's considered mandatory to view such appearances.  I really don't think I could be working for a better Senator--Senator Allen is AWESOME!  I'm sure I'll have more interesting anecdotes to relate as the summer progresses.
