I'm so depressed...=( My friend's goin to China! Nooo!! I miss it sooooo damn much! It's my home away from home! Well I am going again next year and the year after that...but still I wanna go now! just to see what's goin on w/ all my dance buddies there. I havent spoken to any of them in a whole year! that's really depressing. i should call up that military dance guy, but then my chinese is...aye ya. lol. anyway, that's all i wanted to say.

Xanga is getting kinda old and i dont kno if i wanna stay here much longer, but i was inspired to write about my summer. anyway, the beginning of my summer was kinda slow. i was incredibly lazy and just watched movies all day. due to that ive developed enormous crushes on jake gyllenhaal and hayden christensen. i wanna just say that indie films rock! yes, especially donnie darko and life as a house. hahaha. oh and the virgin suicides. though that's not an indie. it was awesome. loved it. oh and i finally watched a walk to remember! i didnt get all the fuss about it until i finally watched it. if a guy ever did all that stuff for me i would just melt into his arms.

i finally started taking regular dance classes last week. i realized that i missed it a lot. i felt very empty and enormously out of shape when i wasnt taking classes regularly. i guess i became sort of depressed without it. but yea im feeling very happy these days.

my mom got two days off so we decided to go on a road trip to arizona. awesome awesome awesome. i invited jess and of course i woulda invited eman but she was off on a road trip of her own to san jose. oh and my little tinker came along as well. we surprised my grandma on july 4th and went out to lunch. my uncle and aunt didnt kno we were their either. we just wanted to surprise them and be spontaneous like we always are. so we were just getting out of our car to eat at the "Desert Rose", when my uncle's car pulls up to the same restaurant! Talk about coinscidence! so we all ended having lunch together. it was great except that tinker really hated being outside so he kept yelping and crying into the heat. we experienced a sort of "drama" with him. we were just finishing our lunch when someone said our dog had escaped. this lady ran and caught him for us. it was kind of amusing. anyway, so afterwards we send my grandma back and my aunt linda tells us to come over.

coming back to their ranch was like i had never left it. their home is so neat and clean that i have been inspired to clean up my own home. hahaha. looking at their window and seeing the beautiful view and their mountain, this peaceful place was the perfect getaway from my city life. i really love it in arizona. it's like my home away from home. it's where my father grew up and i feel a great connection with it.

after much reluctance, my mom, jess, and i agreed to stay at the ranch with my aunt and uncle. it's not that we didnt want to stay there, it's just that we didn't want to bother them and be an extra load. but my aunt, being as sweet as she is, insisted that we stayed, and so we did just that. later that night uncle phil took us out to watch fireworks up close at wilcox high. id never experienced being that close to fireworks and i enjoyed every second of it. afterwards, uncle phil stopped at dairy queen to get ice cream cuz it's tradition to eat ice cream every 4th of July(im so gonna start that tradition! hahahaha) we got back and jess and i decided to take a walk with tinker. while walking, i told her that there were coyotes and rattle snakes out and she totally freaked. we still stayed out for about another 10 mins. i walked by a bush and actually heard a rattling noise from a snake. my mom was calling us in because she was scared about the snakes as well.

i wake up at 6 the next morning. it's a great feeling waking up there. everything is so relaxing and simple. my grandma invited us out for breakfast and we picked her up at 8. i had pancakes. mmmmm. hadnt had that in awhile. ive become grateful for the little things in life. i appreciate more and more everyday. i cant believe my grandma's gonna be 90 next year. although she needs oxygen 24/7 she is in great shape, and is definitely a strong woman. i love her to death. she gave me a picture of herself when she was younger, and pictures of my dad when he was a boy. it's the greatest present ive ever gotten. i treasure them immensly.

after saying goodbye to grandma, we left for my cousin brooke's ranch where he lives with his wife and their 3 children. gwyn, brooke's wife, is definitely an inspiration. not only does she have the burden of 3 children, but her middle son jason has down syndrome. he's actually doing very well. he's grown so much since i last saw him! and hailey, the youngest, is now running around and talking! oh and kodie the eldest has followed in my footsteps and is taking dance lessons. im soo very proud of all of them. they brought us out to see their 3 horses. i dont kno what it is about horses, but just petting them calms me right down.

it was finally time to leave and aunt linda drove us back to her ranch. we had lunch and off we went back to cali. when i make money im definitely gonna buy a ranch with horses and go out to live in arizona every summer.

OMG! New York! Alvin Ailey! That's all I can say! well not really...but u get the idea...anyways, im not going into detail like i usually do, but ill talk about the general things. so my mom and i take the bus because taxis are way too expensive. We get dropped off at 107th right by central park. we freakin practically walked like 1/2 mile to get to our hotel which was all the way by broadway. i mean we coulda taken the subway and it woulda been right there, but we didnt kno that at the time. anyways, i was excited about the hotel until i saw it. it was a shared bathroom one and i was a little digusted at the beginning since it brought back memories of our first hotel in china. but yea it was alright after i got used to everything. so then after we dropped our stuff off we decided we wanted to check out where Alvin Ailey was so that we could go the next morning. so we take the subway which stops right at Lincoln Center. after going the opposite direction we realized we were walking toward the east side when we were supposed to be walking towards the west. aye so then we walk back and finally i see Alvin Ailey Place. we walk down until we reach 2ll. There it is. not what i expected, but that didnt matter. this was Alvin Ailey! i was finally here! this is where the dancers practically lived! after i saw what i needed to see, we decided to get back to our hotel. i was freakin exhausted because all day long we had been getting lost and walking around new york city with all of our luggage. i mean my mom was really super stubborn about taking a taxi. if i were there alone i freakin woulda taken a taxi. it woulda saved so much time! oh well, im kinda glad we didnt because it was fun walking around and discovering new things. so the next day we wake up super early and get to Ailey. there are posters all across the walls. posters of program covers since the company began. it was totally not how i pictured it, but way better. actually, it was the day the company was holding auditions. all of the dancers were so freakin beautiful and skinny-toned. then when the audition was about to begin all of the teachers, the director, and four principal dancers went in to watch! Clifton Brown! and Matthew Rushing! then seeing Judith Jamison put me in a state of shock and awe. i talked to Matthew and he said he enjoyed me at Spotlight. I was very excited. he was super nice and modest as usual when my mom and i flowered him w/ compliments. my mom and i decided to look around at other places and then come back so we could see who got into the company. my mom talked her way into us seeing a ballet class at the School of American Ballet. They were all perfect and super skinny w/ legs for days. Although  they had no personality whatsoever. That kinda bothered me. They were sooooo cookie-cutter. Eh but it was beautiful anyway. after that my mom and i headed back to Ailey. The guys had just finished their audition, and everyone was coming out. my mom started getting excited and going shamrock look who it is! gosh she always likes embarrassing me! lol. anyways, yes it was Clifton Brown! but i was keepin it cool. hahaha. he came over and was like hi shamrock! i was like hi!! i was going to hug him, but he was standing close and if i got up, it woulda been weird so i just stayed sitting. he was super nice and super suave just as i had remembered him. then my mom wanted to take a picture so we went to the entrance area. he put his arm around me when we took the picture...*squeals* hehehehe. we talked a little more and i was considering hugging him again, but then i held back and just shook his hand and said nice seeing u again! im such a chicken. hahahahaha. oh well. it is Clifton Brown im talking about here. so he left and my mom and i sat around some more. i bought some merchandise and then we left. we wanted to to watch a broadway show. i decided on RENT. good choice! hahaha. it was nice seeing people have dry sex w/ my mom!! yea! so that's how it was. but it was an awesome musical. the next day we decided to go to Ailey again because we just couldnt get enough of it. i took my first Dunham class. Shit! it was one of the hardest classes i have ever taken! i was dripping. it was wonderful. after the class we sat around some more. i bought more merchandise. then four boys come our of the Alvin Ailey room w/ the biggest smiles on their faces! they got it! everyone was hugging and kissing them. it was great. they looked like they had one academy awards. id prolly look like that too. i mean Alvin Ailey! that's my dream. that's where i wanna be. the girls were next. there were six of them. Ms. Jamison took four upstairs to her office to speak w/ them. the suspense was awful. my mom and i were sure of this one girl named courney. she was beautifully toned. the ideal dancer. 2 guys from the ailey school snuck up so they could see who got in. they came down and 2 girls we hadnt expected got in. this white girl i didnt even notice and this super tall light-skinned dancer that was super gorgeous. my mom and i were disappointed but that's how it is. i kno she definitely has a future in the company, but now is not the time i guess. it's time to leave, but before we do i take one last look and have a hopeful prayer of one day getting into this company.
